The original building still stands today and has been used as a library since 1952. The town became incorporated on April 1, 1907. One early resident, Averill Bogue, donated land near present day Interstate 35 for what would become one of Tulsa's most famous shopping districts – Butler Park Shopping Center – which opened its doors in 1922 with over 100 stores including Ziegfeld Follies theater chains and Sears Roebuck department stores among its initial tenants. With advances in transportation technology during World War II Kansas City-based Lockheed Aircraft produced Tulsa's only jet engine factory before moving production back to California after the war; this plant eventually created more than 20 thousand jobs throughout much of central Oklahoma while contributing significantly to local economic development both then and now through numerous spin-off businesses continuing today across multiple industries including agriculture/agricultural machinery manufacturing retail trade services health care/healthcare services software development

The Guthrie area first came into being in 1902 when two men named George and Jesse Guthrie teamed up to plat a townsite on the south side of the Arkansas River. The original name for Guthrie was English Settlement No. 3 and it was later changed to Spanish Settlement No. 1 in 1907 because of the influx of Mexican immigrants who were working on the Chisholm Trail through central Oklahoma Territory. Guthrie became an official town on December 21, 1912 whenOklahoma Statute 9-5-1 passed by the state legislature made Guthrie an independent city within Inreek County subject to only local taxation powers and regulations. During World War I, many residents enlisted in military service and as a result, there were more than twice asmany people living in Guthrie as when it became an official town. In 1925, due to oil field discoveries in nearby Tulsa, Guthrie experienced a rapid growth spurt which led to increased development around its downtown core including new businesses such as banks, hotels and auto dealerships that helped jumpstart what would become known as "The Rust Belt". However, by 1930 housing prices had started skyrocketing statewide which caused many small businesses that depended on customer demand to closing their doors or moving out of state altogether; this left little opportunity for newly created jobs or economic growth for locals over time. This stagnation caught up with Boyd City after World War II when almost all major industry went away leaving only agriculture remaining - this eventually led to a decline in population from around 5200 at its peak in 1961 to 3000 at present day due primarily to factors such as aging infrastructure unable to keep up with increasing population density coupled with lack of investment opportunities outside of smalltown communities across America during that time period
In 1907, Guthrie was the county seat of Haskell County. The courthouse was built in 1911 and it is still in use today. In 1912, the state legislature designated Guthrie as the new capital of Oklahoma. Guthrie became the capital on March 1, 1913.
