In 1934-1935 an attempt was made to start an American Legion branch in Guthrie but this failed due to lack of interest from members who were instead interested in joining the newly formed OKC Councilsmen’s Association which had been created that year by Mayor Sam Chisholm with support from Governor Edwin Edwards. After World War II ended there was a proliferation of handguns across America with many people wanting to buy new rifles but no need for gun magazines however some people did continue to subscribe to oldIssue Magazine which continued publication until 1979 when it merged with another local mag called "Barracuda".

These businesses have helped contribute to increasing economic activity within the town over time while contributing much-needed jobs into local economies across multiple sectors including health care services such as mental health treatment facilities; daycare providers; restaurant workers; agricultural production;and more!
