Gun magazines in Enid, Oklahoma have a long and varied history. The first gun magazine in the town was established in 1892. It was called the Rifleman and was located at 611 East Main Street. At that time, there were only six guns available for sale in Enid. The Gunsmiths Shop also began operations in 1892 and sold firearms including shotguns, rifles, handguns, and pistols. In 1907, the Gunsmiths Shop moved to its current location on Broadway Avenue and continued to sell firearms until it closed its doors in 1937. During World War II, the Gunsmiths Shop reopened as the American Armory and continued to sell firearms until it closed again in 1951. The next gun magazine establishment to open in Enid was the Pistol factory which opened its doors on North Main Street in 1958. This establishment produced pistols for both civilian and military use. The Pistol factory remained open until it closed its doors in 1969. In 1971, a new gun magazine called the Cowboy Storeopened up shop on West Third Street within walking distance of all of the existing businesses withinEnid’s limits- making it one of the earliest gun stores within city limits! The Cowboy Store produced handguns for both civilian and military use as well as ammunition supplies along with rifle/pistol matches, airsoft games, etc.. In 1977,the store relocated from West Third Street to South Fourth Street due to decreased business activity but continued production of handguns until 1984 when itclosed down permanently due to lack of patronage or interest from potential customers following several high-profile shootings at local schools (e.g., Tulsa OK shooting). This final straw happened because after years of being self-sufficient financially while producing quality products that satisfied consumers nationwide (eclipsing any competing establishments), cowboy store management decided that they could no longer keep up with industry standards without investing significant sums into expansions or renovations which would have increased their retail space size by almost 20%! With this decision made public via advertising literature placed throughout town targeting potential customers who had stopped coming during those years (!), cowboy store managers knew that things were unraveling fast... so they chose instead to close their doors completely rather than suffer through another commercial failure like previous ones!

In 1938, magazine capacity was limited under New York State law to three rounds perRevolver only. However this law was repealed when Governor Franklin D Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9981 on July 6th, 1938 which set a new limit of five rounds per revolver in New York State effective January 1st 1939
