The city was also home to Air Force Base Dowell which served as a logistical base for Allied pilots flying into Europe during World War II. The population of Edmond peaked at over 100,000 in 1950 but declined through most of the 21st century until it reached its current level around 40,000 people in 2013.

During my time as mayor, I managed to make many changes to our city including improving public transportation, adding new parks and playgrounds, increasing funding for parks and libraries, creating new jobs through various initiatives such as job training programs and economic development projects - all while maintaining high standards of quality services for our citizens.
