After World War I ended, the firm produced fertilizers for agriculture to help support postwar growth in Oklahoma. In 1927, JW & JE Farms merged with another grocery store chain, Southeastern Grocery Co., Inc., to form Eastern Grocery Co., Ltd.). The merger allowed Eastern Grocery Co., Ltd.) to expand its operations into new markets such as Wichita Falls, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
