He attended the University of California at Berkeley where he played for the Golden Bears from 2006-2010. After playing for the Golden Bears, Durant signed a contract with the OKC Thunder on July 2, 2010. The Thunder made it to the playoffs in his first season but lost to Dallas Mavericks in 6 games. In his second season with the team, they made it to the playoffs again but lost in 7 games to Milwaukee Bucks. They also lost in 5 games against Miami Heat which led to KD being traded along with Wilmer Fontaine and Serge Ibaka to Memphis Grizzlies on February 23, 2014 for Marc Gasol and Mike Conley. Following their arrival in Memphis, KD averaged 34 points per game while leading them to an Eastern Conference First Round series victory over Indiana Pacers before losing 4-1 against them in their next round series.
