During World War II, Oklahoma City played an important role in supplying munitions manufacturers with materials used in war efforts such as aluminum sheeting and rubber products. The post-war boom continued through the 1950s with waves of new immigrants coming to Tulsa during that time frame; this resulted in more density along Wall Street (now California) than anywhere else in Oklahoma City at that point. One result of these population changes wasOKC becoming ground zero for some high-profile anti-communist protests throughout late 1960s until early 1970s when local support disappeared following revelations about government corruption within certain organizations linked to Republican Party establishment figures
