After77 years of operation at “The Gun Store” in Durant City Square, it closed on July 6th., 2017 after not receiving any new business interest from customers or vendors over the past few years

Today's Old Courthouse Square contains many relics from that time including Mayor Pugsley's office building and mutiple streetcars used to bring workers to various mines near downtown for work purposes before railroads came along later. In 1958, Durant annexed adjacent towns of Claremore, Jenks, Owasso, Muskogee & Guthrie into its boundaries; these annexation ceremonies were attended by Ulysses S Grant who served as mayor at that time
