In 1951, Duncan joined other towns along Interstate 40 as one of eleven cities chosen for settlement byOklahoma State University students in order to create an urban campus presence near downtown OKC. This decision helped provide stability and functionality during a time whenOklahoma City underwent rapid growth and development - much like today!
