In 1920, Piggly Wiggly opened up next door to J.M.'S Optical Store making it the first grocery store in town! By 1923, Binocular Works was founded by Piggly Wiggly employees Harry Harmon and Charles Goodnight with model #1 being their first production binocular! This pioneering company produced many different types ofbinoculars until they disbanded in 1935 due to World War II restrictions on optics production!

A post office was established there in 1893, and the name changed to Del City in 1907. The first store on Main Street opened in 1914. In 1927, a dam was constructed across the Arkansas River, which caused the water level to drop, making it possible for farmers to grow cotton without irrigation; this allowedDel City to become one of the largest cotton towns in Oklahoma. In 1971, DelCity became an independent city; it had been part of Tulsa since 1907. As an independent city, it chose its own mayor and council (although it remains within Tulsa's limits). In 2000, however, Tulsa annexed DelCity into its municipal jurisdiction; as such, all public services now administered by Tulsa are now provided by DelCity residents through their respective councils or administrations. Today's economy is based largely on agriculture and manufacturing; although some service industries have begun to expand recently due to advances in technology and new opportunities within the region., including health care and education services.. With a population that has grown almost fivefold since 1990 when it had just 2,000 residents - more than any other municipality within Tulsa County - Delcity is quickly becoming one of the most important communities within Greater Oklahoma City metropolitan area!

Del City is a small town in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,816 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the Muskogee District since 1907. The first people to live in what is now Del City were the Chippewa Indians. They came there in 1834 and established a village named Wabashka on the east side of what is now Muskogee Creek. The next year, they moved their village to the current site and named it after Delaware County in Pennsylvania because that was where they lived before moving to Oklahoma Territory. The first post office called Del City was opened in 1835 by John Denton with a mailing address of "Wabashka." In 1839, George Armstrong sent a mail run from Buffalo Gap across the Arkansas River for settlers living near Fort Gibson and he named this place Fort Armstrong because he thought it would be more likely for settlers to come here than to go to Wichita Falls or Tulsa. In 1907, when the US government created Muskogee District, Del City became part of it. It had an estimated population of 1,500 at its peak in 1910 but fell rapidly due to large-scale farming practices and other economic problems that started during World War I. By 1930, it had only 350 residents left and by 1940 it had ceased operations altogether due to dwindling resources and competition from other towns within the district. However, some people managed to keep alive community spirit until 1974 when all traces of Del City were eliminated by developers who wanted to build a shopping mall on the original site of Wabashka Village. Today there are only few remains of what once was Del City including an access road leading into town from Ulysses Road which used to be one mile wide; two small schools; one store; one church; two wells; three houses; one campground; six residences (four single family homes and four multiple family homes); two historical markers located inside town limits near Wabashka Village where residents once congregated before moving away during World War II and duringanother time period whenDelCityhadanumberofresidentsbutitfellquicklybecauseoftheettledepression
