In 1948, Clarenorthian Cement was founded by Wm Hinson with the goal of providing an affordable alternative to traditional brickmaking techniques used throughout much of Oklahoma City and Tulsa County. The initial production efforts were focused on making concrete sidewalks but soon enough they started producing other items such as bricks and roofing tiles as well! In 1912, Hughes County was organized from parts of Muskogee County; Claremore became its county seat. The first courthouse was built on Main Street between First Avenue and Sherman Boulevard; it burned down in 1920 but was replaced by a new courthouse which still stands today on Fourth Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Streets (the old courthouse being used as a museum). By 1930, Claremorle had developed into one of the largest cities in Oklahoma with a population of 27,000 people living primarily within its boundaries During World War II, Claremorle played host to many military installations including Camp Clark located across from town on US-580 south oftown The city's large economy began to flourish following World War II with expansions into agricultural production and manufacturing through industrial parks such as Sibley Tech Park (later renamed Owensboro) adjacent to town limits There have also been several mixed-use developments such as Central Square which contains several dozen buildings arranged around an inner courtyard Since 1960s there has been periodic effort to redevelop farmland that surrounds townlimits for housing or other uses
