Gun targets have been a part of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma's history for many years. The first target was placed in the town by W.B. O'Neill in 1887. TARGETS IN BROKEN ARROW: The first shooting galleries were located on Fourth Street and Sherman Avenue in Broken Arrow, starting in 1909. In 1914, the city council passed an ordinance allowing public shooting ranges to be established in the city. The first gun range opened at 9th and Market Streets on October 1, 1916, under the name of American Armory [now known as Century Arms]. On November 5, 1919, the Tulsa World reported that American Armory had closed its doors after twenty-one years of business. From 1916-1920 there were two pistol lounge locations within Broken Arrow; one on Third and Commerce Streets and another on First and Federal streets (later renamed East Side Gun Club). One additional pistol lounge location was opened at 4th and Elmira streets on February 10, 1931 (the old Enterprise Theater now known as Radio City Music Hall). The following year saw a surge in handgun sales when President Herbert Hoover signed into law the National Firearms Act which made it more difficult for individuals to purchase firearms without government permission. As a result of this lawgun manufacturers reacted by reducing production rates of handguns throughout America. However, due to low demand for handguns across most industries gun producers increased production rates once again throughout 1932-1933[1],[2] However with new economic conditions post WWII firearms production petered out overall[3]. In 1951-1952 Target Corporation began manufacturing steel targets at their facility off I-240 east of town near US 36/US 80 freeway junction (near present day US 71 intersection). Steel targets continued to be made until around 1978 when they stopped making all types of targets after being bought out by ECHODefense Incorporated who manufactured aluminum targets from then until 2003.[4],[5]Today firearm enthusiasts can still find steel target ammunition available from several retailers including Classic Archery Supply Company located just outside downtown Broken Arrow off I-405 Southwestern Boulevard

Broken Arrow is a city in the U.S. state of Oklahoma, located on the Arkansas River near its confluence with the Canadian River. It is the county seat of Stephens County and has a population of 68,543 as of 2010. The city was founded in 1907 by railroad magnate J.P. Morgan and his family as a stop on their transcontinental Railroad. In 1912, it became an incorporated municipality under the name of Tulsa. In 1907, J.P.'s father-in-law, Andrew Carnegie, donated $1 million to build a railroad through Stephens County from Tulsa to Broken Arrow and back again; this railway was called the Central Pacific Railroad (CPR). The CPR would eventually become part of Union Pacific Railway and be renamed "The Great Western". In 1912, when Tulsa joined Union Pacific Railway proper as an incorporated municipality, it adopting the name "Broken Arrow". The city grew rapidly during World War II due to its proximity to military installations such as Fort Sill and Camp Beale;[2] however, following the war's endBroken Arrow lost much of its population growth.[3] Its current population peaked at 71,208 in 2000,[4] but has declined since then[] ;[5][6][7][8] according to OKC Metro Statistical Area statistics for 2014-2015,[9] Broken Arrow's population is now estimated at 67,058 residents withinOKC Metro statistical area boundaries (including both annexed areas east of I-44 which are part of Tulsa) - down from 69%±2010 Census estimate[10];[11][12] real estate values have also decreased significantly over that time period
