Broken Arrow is a town in Ia County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 6,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1907 by pioneers John and Emma Ladd. In 1907, Broken Arrow was a small settlement near what is now Guthrie. The present-day town of Broken Arrow was founded on July 1, 1907 by John and Emma Ladd from Illinois as a small community called "Ender's Glen". On October 12, 1907, the first post office in the community opened with six mailbags delivered to residents by wagon. At that time there were only four homes in broken arrow and it took until 1912 for telephone service to be established through the Great Northern Telephone Company. In 1912, another pioneer family moved into Broken Arrow from Colorado and named their home "Moses Lake". Moses Lake became one of the most popular tourist destinations in Broken Arrow due to its beautiful scenery and crystal-clear waterfalls. In 1923–24, when Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area expanded to include Broken Arrow and nearby towns such as Jenks and Owasso, Broken Arrow lost its status as a independent village but continued to enjoy city rights until 1951 when they were again granted full municipal status under the provisions of state government decentralization policy which followed World War II riots across much of east Texas。 It wasn't until 1959 that Ted Turner bought land east of townline (now US 54) for an open-air TV antenna farm which would become known as Turner Broadcasting System's Thunder Valley Ranch; this event caused many downtown businesses including Amoco convenience stores to move out during this period because OFA regulations limited sales outside OFA limits). After years of growth without proper planning or zoning development occurred largely due to crime rates being high (broken arrow had no police department until 1958), voters passed an ordinance amending their City Charter effective December 15th,- becoming a Town after over 50 years! The city was founded by a group of settlers from Texas in 1866 as a railway town on the Arkansas River near present-day Tulsa. It became a principal railroad center in westOklahoma and grew rapidly due to its location on key trade routes and its access to water supplies.
