In Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the history of firearms and ammunition is intertwined with the community’s history. In 1892, a local rifle company was founded and began manufacturing rifles in town. The company was eventually bought out by Winchester Repeating Arms Company and continued making rifles until 1959. The rifle factory also produced shotguns from 1897 to 1958. The city’s first gun shop opened in 1903 and became known as the “Gun Shop of America.” It was located at 8th and Garnet Streets before moving to 12th Street in 1908. It closed its doors in 1971 but reopened as an antique store in 1984. In 1992, it merged with neighboring Guntersville to become the Guntersville Firearms Museum which still exists today. Broken Arrow residents have been arms enthusiasts for more than 100 years! Most notably, Arnie Boyd - who helped popularize airguns in Broken Arrow - stocked his armory with over 1,000 firearms between 1934-1950 inclusive (the earliest year data available). Broken Arrow is a city in eastern Oklahoma, United States. The population was 28,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Broken Arrow comes from an Apache term for "the place where the water flows". This was first given to the town by General Grant in 1868 during his campaigns against the Apaches. The first post office in Broken Arrow was established on July 1, 1892. The present-day downtown area was built up around this time and includes most of what is now known as City Hall Square. It wasn't until 1907 that Broken Arrow got its own telephone company, but it didn't become a full-fledged city until 1912 when it annexed Osage Heights to its north. In 1932, Broken Arrow became one of four cities located in east Tulsa County along with Jenks and Shawnee Hills; however, due to funding shortages within East Tulsa County all four cities were merged into one municipality on January 1, 1936 under Mayor John Gentry's leadership. On November 3rd of that year voters passed a referendum approving annexation of the unincorporated community of Cimarron east of Tulsa proper to make way for municipally-owned streets and sidewalks within town limits (although some residents continue to call their village Cimarron). The merger made sense as splitting town services between two villages would have been expensive and difficult too do without giving each village control over only a small portion of their own territory - something which they had always desired but could not achieve due to opposition from fellow townsfolk who felt annexed without their consent would be unfair and unconstitutional. With such strong support from locals both inside and outside municipal boundaries cracks began appearing among Gentry's administration as well as within his Democratic political party with many residents disgruntled about being forced into affiliation with what they saw as an illegitimate organization run by a corrupt politician. However, despite these issues Gentry carried out his plans for merger even though local opposition grew louder every day leading up to its implementation which saw citizens flooding City Hall Square asking for refunds on property taxes paid while living elsewhere in broken arrow; this eventually led to Gentry's impeachment proceedings after revelations he had used city funds to pay off personal debts totaling $100K+ . Despite efforts by high-ranking members of the government including then Attorney General Orville Hodge and Governor Wilbur Winterer damage continued throughout 1960s before finally climaxing with Gentry's resignation effective December 14th 1966 just shy of five years after taking office following pressure from both state legislators as well as right wing activists group Citizens for Constitutional Democracy who felt he had betrayed their principles by endorsing gubernatorial candidate David Boren

Today, Broken Arrow is still home to many businesses and institutions associated with local history such as the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MOA), which showcases artifacts from various parts of Oklahoma; The Universityof Tulsa School Of Business; the John Ladd Museum Of Art;aney Community Center;and much more.
