Bixby, Oklahoma is a small town in the United States and it's located in Stephens County. The population was 3,719 at the 2010 census. It's known for its shopping center, Bixby Mills, and the Museum of Western Folklife which is open to the public. The town has a history dating back to 1881 when it was named "Ft. Worth," but it didn't gain its name until 1907 when W.T. Sherman donated land to make way for a military airfield. In 1949, Bixby became an incorporated town and it remained so until 2000 when it reverted back to its original name of Ft. Worth (it had been preceded by "Ft Worth" as part of Trans-Oklahoma Railroad Commission). Today, there are no schools in Bixby and most residents rely on their churches and businesses for education while they work or farm outside the town limits. The first settlers in what is now Bixby were Methodist missionaries who arrived in 1881 from Nashville, Tennessee after hearing about an Indian reservation that was being established near Fort Worth by Major General John Fetterman. At first they called the place Ft Worth because of General Fetterman's home north of San Antonio River where he had stationed his forces during the Mexican–American War (1846-48). However, since Ft Worth wasn't big enough to house them all they decided to move closer to Wichita Falls on September 10th 1881 under cover of darkness so as not to be seen by Mexican troops patrolling southward along I-35W during Texas Revolution week celebration days just off Interstate 20A between Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area and Wichita Falls city limits - something that would become more common as Mexico attemptedto take control over Texas following US victory over Mexico at Alamo Heights on April 6th 1836 despite US intervention.). They began building their homes on what is now US Highway 277 east side of Wichita Falls city Limits Airport & present day Main Street just inside Wichita Falls city limits & naming their new community Ft Worth after Whitney Houston street names starting with First National Bank Building next door then First Trust Co Store before moving east side across road renamed Park Avenue into Hutchinson County boundary & started calling themselves Texans living mainly knowing English only some Spanish language fluently speaking Native American Chiefs among them including Chief O'Neill who lived further east near Canadian River crossing nearby El Paso TX & other chiefs like him grazing buffalo herds outlying ranching properties adjoining communities e live today still ranching operations taking care these lands although last Cowboys visit hereabouts Drawer Creek Ranch approximately 25 miles west OK

Bixby, Oklahoma is a small town in the southeastern corner of the state of Oklahoma. It was founded in 1907 by John Bixby and his family. The town had a population of only 100 people when it became a city in 1938. In 1961, Bixby was renamed to Tulsa after Mayor George W. Tulsa. The city has since shrunk again and has a population of just over 1,000 people today. The history of Bixby begins with John Bixby who settled in the area in 1907. He built a cabin near what is now the intersection of US-40 and CD-59A Roads which he called “Bixtown” (now known as Crossroads). The first school in this area was established in 1908 from logs that were brought by Mr. Bixby from his home state of Texas. A post office called “Brixborough” was opened at this location on November 6, 1908 under the name of Mr. John Brixborough and James Heddleman United States Post Office Incorporated (renamed Tulsa on May 15, 1959). In 1911, Mrs. Catherine Kelsall set up her grocery store next to her house at 5th Street and Elm Avenue which later became known as Mrs. Kelsall’s Market Place (now known as First National Bank). After World War I ended, manyOklahoma farmers left for work overseas so there wasn’t enough land available to support them back home; this caused some residents to move away from their homes into other towns such as Guthrie and Van Wyck because they didn't have any other choice but to leave their homesickness behind them when they went away for work or war service! In 1938, City Council voted to rename Bixby as Tulsa after Mayor George W Tulsa due to its growing population. This great event helped make Tulsa one of the most popular cities in Oklahoma! Today, Tulsa is still one of Oklahoma's top economic centers with businesses located all throughout its downtown district including several high-rise buildings!

By 1912, the town had a post office, store, and school. Bixby quickly became a popular place to live and work because of its easy access to water, good schools, and healthy environment. In 1951, the town incorporated as a municipality. Over time, Bixby has made many advancements including becoming an agricultural center with production of corn, soybeans, cottonseed, honeybees, and other crops; becoming one of the most diverse towns in OKC; and being selected as the "City of Progress" by the City Council in 2006.
