The shop continued to be operated by Mr. Hickey until his death in 1959, then by his son-in-law, Rufus Aiken (1896-1982), until 1981 when it was closed down due to budget cuts caused by the recession of the early 1980s. The SHOT Show took place at the old Bixby Armory from 1911 through 1913 and again in 1957; this show featured firearms from all over America and Canada including several models built in Bixby during that time period including a Winchester Model 1892 rifle which is on display at the Old Town Hall Museum here in town today!

Bixby, Oklahoma is a small town in Stephens County, Oklahoma and it is the only incorporated community in the county. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. The Bixby post office was established on October 25, 1907, and was discontinued on December 15, 1959. The first resident of Bixby was Hilda A. Bridges who arrived in 1903 from Iowa. She married Olin Winton and had two children before moving to McAlester in 1907. Hilda Winton later became a Daycare Operator for many years and died in 2000. In 1915 Willard Dyer moved to Bixby from McAlester with his family after getting a job as an Inspector for the Shell Oil Company near Tulsa. He started a grocery store called The Grits Place where he served customers until 1924 when he sold his business to Sam Tilden who opened The Grain Store next door which continued until 1951 when it closed due to lack of customers. “Sam Tilden made history as one of the earliest entrepreneurs in this area by starting what would become one of Wichita Falls’ most successful stores-the grain store that still stands today across from Marshall Park mall."
