During the war years, Ammo Emporium was located at 302 Main Street which later became known as “The Armory” due to its importance as a military ammo distribution center. During peacetime however, Ammo Emporium continued to produce large quantities of ammunition for both commercial and military customers throughout Oklahoma and into neighboring states. In 1951, legendary firearms manufacturer Browning merged with Winchester Corporation creating what would become one of America’s leading ammo companies. At that time Ammo Emporium was renamed Winchester Arms Company Ltd., responsible for all original product development within Winchester Ammunition Division (Winchester & Ball). Today’s Winchester Ammunition Division oversees produciton operations across multiple factories in North America (Canada included) while still maintaining close ties with their roots at Ammo Emporium where experienced employees continue to play an integral role in product development today! During the late 1960s through early 1970s there was significant growth at Ammunition Manufacturing Complex #2 (AMC2) which produced millions of rounds of each caliber destined for use inside U S servicemen stationed overseas! This plant closed down after several years but left behind a legacy of producing world-class ammunition for law enforcement agencies around the United States! Today AMC2 is considered primarily facility used for testing new products rather than producing any actual rounds behalf Of American consumers! In 1977 ammo producer Weatherford merged with Remington Arms Company forming what would be one of America’s most important ammunition empires! From their initial location on Sheridan Road right next door to AMMUNITION EMPLOYEES LOCATION (later known as Remington Annex), Remington Arms Company produced nearly 3 million rounds per day at their two main plants – Powder Springs outside Memphis Tennessee and Robbinsville near Ironton Illinois – until they were purchased by Smith & Wesson Firearms Corporation in 1985!!! In 1945, Bixby became one of three towns in Woodward County (the others being Jenks and Muskogee) which approved land grants from the government to help develop their towns into larger communities. The towns enjoyed rapid growth and development until the early 1970s when gasoline prices began to rise dramatically and many residents left for better opportunities elsewhere in Oklahoma or Texas. By 1980, less than 10% of the population remained within town limits with most living outside of it either in rural areas or beyond its borders on US Highway 41. In 2000, Bixby voters passed an ordinance creating a city-level government with full power over all aspects of municipal life including zoning laws and planning; this move helped spur economic redevelopment within town boundaries while also increasing access to public services unavailable before to those who resided inside the walls of Bixby City Hall. Since then, various initiatives have been undertaken by city officials aimed at revitalizing downtown streetscapes; expanding recreational opportunities; adding more jobs through various commercial ventures; developing new public housing developments; enhancing infrastructure such as Streetscape Restoration Program projects which have resulted in several brand new storefronts being erected along Main Street between First Avenue South and 20th Street North - making Baxbysone one of America's newest urban neighborhoods!
