In 1921, following completion of Well No 2 adjacent to Well No 1 (and concurrent reclamation of part of nearby Arkansas River), Bartlesville boomed as a result of increased demand for local fuel during World War II when crop prices soared due to plentiful supplies generated by fracking operations across America combined with war shortages caused by Germany's invasion and Blitzkrieg campaign into France and BelgiumOperation Barbarossa). In 1944, an additional oil well was drilled on land leased from Apache Oil Corporation which doubled production at Well No 3 becoming known as Well #3/ Apache Peak production peaked at 375 barrels per day in 1945 while other wells also produced significant amounts throughout 1945/46 before being abandoned due to overproduction and depletion issues that persisted into early 1947 leading to abandonment or decline such that production ceased altogether within two yearsProduction stopped at Apache Peak on July 16th 1946
