When hostilities ceased less than two weeks later, much of downtown was destroyed or damaged in what is now known as the Battle of Downtown Bartlesville including most of McConnell Avenue which ran along Main Street from Union Station northeast to McClain Avenue south-southwest of Market Square (now SEPTA's Mount Pleasant Station). The area now bounded by First Street (north), Second Street (east), Third Street (southwest), Independence Boulevard (west) was all part of McCallum Avenue before it became Euclid Avenue south-southwest of Market Square in 1917 when Union Station moved to that location northward beside Interstate 30("I-30").
