Bartlesville, Oklahoma was founded in 1907 as the second city in what would become the state of Oklahoma. The city was named after General John Bartles, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as governor of Oklahoma. The first gun mags were opened in Bartlesville by J.C. In 1934, the OK State Legislature pass an act that authorized the state government to establish a firearms registry for all citizens in order to improve efficiency and prevent crime. The area became one of the wealthiest sections of Tulsa after World publicized oil discoveries there starting in 1911 helped spur development throughout Tulsa County across many names including Midland, Northfield, Independence and Bristow before finally settling on Bartlesville as the new name for downtown Tulsa during World War I when military production increased due to supplies coming through those Anchorage Railroad Pipeline terminals at that time closer to Chicago than Tulsa proper could reach on water transportation then available or possible[1]. However not all businesses started out with this nickname; some examples are Poteetie’s Clothesline Cafe which opened originally called “Timberlake” also located near Third Street & Broadway served American Legion troops until 1978 when they closed down because their building deteriorated; KFC also operated briefly under this moniker prior to becoming just another open-air restaurant chain throughout much of central Oklahoma until being relocated several miles south along US-81 near McAlester by 1997 when that particular location saw its last drive-in chicken stand close operations following local pressure from anti-chicken activism groups active during that period[2][3] . Bartlesville, Oklahoma was founded in 1907 by Willard Bartles and his wife, Minnie. The town grew quickly due to its location on the Chisholm Trail and its easy access to trainroads. By 1930, Bartlesville had a population of around 2,000 people. The town's fortunes changed in the late 1920s when oil started to flow through the area. Oil companies began production in the area and jobs were created. However, during World War II, the town was bombed by the American military. The bombings caused damage to buildings and killed many people. In 1945, Bartlesville became an independent city with its own government. It experienced rapid growth following World War II and has remained an important community ever since.
The town of Bartlesville was founded in 1881 by John A. Bartles and James H. Barnett. The population of the town peaked at around 10,000 in the early 1900s, but dropped to 3,500 by 1920. However, the town continued to grow until it reached its current size of 15,000 in 1950. In 1951, the first post office was established in Bartlesville. The town became a city in 1957 and has grown even more since then with a population of over 30,000 today.
