In 1907, a man named George Hargrave began to produce pistols and revolvers at his home. The guns were made of brass with black walnut stocks and hands. Hargrave’s company soon became well-known in the local gun market and he expanded into manufacturing other firearms, including shotguns and rifles. By the 1920s, Hargrave had become one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the state. His products were sold through local dealers and distributors throughout Oklahoma and neighboring states. During World War II, Ardmore became an important munitions plant due to its location on the Arkansas River between Tulsa and Jenks. The plant produced materials for both Luftwaffe bombers and American troops fighting in Europe. After the war ended, Ardmore slowly declined as new industries developed in nearby cities. However, Hargrave continued to operate his company until his death in 1978, leaving behind a legacy of manufacturing quality firearms that continue to be enjoyed by Oklahomans today

Ardmore, Oklahoma is a town located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma on the banks of the Arkansas River. The population was 4,871 at the 2010 census, making it one of the most populous towns in its county and one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Great Plains Region. The name Ardmore comes from an early French settler, Pierre Chouteau, who named his community after his home near Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. The first permanent European settlers arrived in what is now Ardmore in 1827. They were part of a small group that left Fort Leavenworth to explore what would become Oklahoma Territory. After landing at what is now Nacogdoches they set up camp for two months before moving on to Carden County where they met some more Indians and began trading goods for land and horses. In 1830, a party led by Captain John Jukes reached Ardmore and discovered oil well sites on both sides of the river; this discovery spurred development along the Arkansas River corridor which included today's town of Ardmore proper as well as nearby Refugio and Muskogee counties. By 1835 all but 10 settlers had left for Texas due to Indian hostilities over land claims (the remaining few moved into present day Haskell County). White settlement began anew with new arrivals from Illinois and Kentucky who started ranching lands west of Ardmore between 1840-1850 inclusive; these men founded many local businesses including grocery stores, saloons and hotels which continue to operate today including several within downtown ArdMORE! A large cotton gin was also built here during this time period which contributed greatly to growth throughout central Kansas City area – original plans called for this structure to be used as a major train depot handling commodities such as lumber, coal etc., however it was never completed! In 1861 when President Abraham Lincoln designated portions of present day Haskell County as Western Oklahoma Territory he decided that ArdMORE should be its capital; thus commenced what would eventually be known as OK history – construction continued through 1865 with much fanfare until finally situated atop Hillcrest hill overlooking downtown OKC commenced on October 15th 1865 with Mayor John Pemberton presiding over an event attended by dignitaries from around America! Today’s skyline view can be enjoyed from any location within downtown OKC thanks to heroic efforts made by firefighters fighting fires inside historic buildings dating back to 1907–2008! On July 14th 1919 Tulsa World reporter Hilda Payne published her famous story about “The White Flamingo” leading a secret attack against Tulsa Union Depot; resulting in $1 million loss for American Tobacco Company! This incident is still celebrated annually by supporters wearing white flamedos around city limits!!! It wasn't just business owners/workers that experienced prosperity during this time but residents too: popular singalong spots like Philbrook Park blossomed while theaters like Music Hall reopened after being closed for years….and everyone seemed happy!!? The 1920s were rough times financially speaking but overall things were going strong especially considering there were no air raids then 😊

In 1894, the Haskell Indian School was built on Ardmore's east side. It was designed by Samuel Richardson and opened in 1897. The school closed in 1939, but it is still standing today.
