Ada is part of the Muskogee County seat and is bordered by Tulsa to the east, McAlester to the north, and Ponca City to the west. Ada has a humid subtropical climate with moderate annual rainfall. The first people in Ada were Wichita Indians who settled there in 1821. They built their village on a bluff overlooking Yaqui River. The Wichita Tribe was forced out of Ada by white settlers in 1868. In 1898, following Indian gaming laws passed during Reconstruction, Ada became an all-white community after white men bought all of the town's land from Native Americans. In 1907, Ada's first high school opened as Woodward High School under construction on what is now Main Street. It served students who lived within walking distance of the school or took buses to get there from surrounding towns and villages. Woodward closed in 1951 due to financial problems; its last student was chartered McKinney Junior College which opened in 1954 on land adjacent to Woodward that had been donated by prominent citizens including Sidney Sayers and Wernher von Braun among others. In 1959, it was announced that local businessmen John Hickey and Virgil Goodyear would purchase 1 million acres (500 km²) adjoining Muskogee County for $1 per acre (30 m2). This created Ada Township which became a separate municipality within Muskogee County on July 1, 1960 when both townships merged into one entity with voting rights for citizens of both communities; however township status did not apply to main street addresses within either community). On December 15th 1969 main street between city limits and Wadsworth Road (/old route 66) reopened after being closed since October 1968 due to heavy rains caused flash flooding through badlands leading upriver from Big Creek area near present day I-40 exit 39A/Old route 66 junction). After years of planning by many residents and businesses including ARCO gas station which operated on Main Street until it moved across I-40 about 3 miles south in 2006 this reopened portion also includes sidewalks & new lighting system

Ada, Oklahoma is a small town in the US state of Oklahoma. It was founded in 1907 by parents of Ada, Kansas immigrants. The original population of Ada was just over 100 people. Today, the population of Ada is around 575 residents. Ada's history can be traced back to 1907 when parents of local Wichita farmers, John and Lillie Bean, came to the area and settled down on a farm called Tellico Hill. They were the first permanent residents in what would become Ada County. John Bean died in 1909 and Lillie Bean continued to live on Tellico Hill until her death in 1912. She was married to George Aiken who also lived in Ada at that time. From 1912-1915, Mrs. Aiken ran a general store near the corner of Main and Spear Streets with her husband as its head clerk. In 1915 she sold her business and moved away from Ada for good after serving four years as Mayor of Olathe,Kansas (now Kansas City). The early days at Tellico Hill were difficult due to pioneer Blazefield Crouch's barehanded farming techniques which required daily labor during those times before machines became available. However, over time other settlers began moving into the area which made things easier for John Bean's children who grew up playing outside their home all day long - something that still occurs today! In addition to his farming skills John Bean also taught himself how to read and write so he could communicate with his family back east; something that would play an important role later in their lives! When he died in 1909 his wife continued teaching herself how to read and write so she could keep track of family news back home! 2 more sons followed suit including Fredrick who became a farmer too but left town sometime after World War II; Carlisle who served active military duty during WWII then returned home & operated various businesses including one time owning & operating an ice cream parlor; Everett who attained some fame as halfback on hometown’s (now Wichita) high school football team & later coached Tulsa’s “Hawks” backfield from 1951-1973 (& latterly managed amateur sports teams nearby Ft Worth); lastly Donnie who worked his way up through the ranks at Ford Motor Company eventually becoming manager/executive vice president responsible for Ford plants located throughout North America before retiring there permanently in 2003 . All these men leaving behind spouses & families behind - living hand-to-mouth until they finally found success no matter where they ended up! Today Adas population stands at 575 residents making it one of smallest towns within US stateOklahoma however it has accomplished many milestones throughout its history including being selected as host city for Expo 67 (world’s fair), hosting annual meeting Of Governors Of States Anniversary Dinner In 2013 becoming “Largest City In The Nation To Benefit From A National History Museum And Library Project Within Its boundaries And Approved By President Obama On July 14th 2014"It is safe to say that this tiny community has had a significant impact on both OKC metropolitan area overall& UNOKC municipality especially during past 50 years
Ada, Oklahoma was founded in 1907 by settlers from what is now Wichita, Kansas. The town was named after Ada County, Michigan, which at the time included the area that now Ada. The first post office in Ada opened in 1909. In 1915, the town became a city and was renamed Ada-Muncie. In 1938, the city of Ada merged with Muncie to form the current metropolitan area known as Wichita-Muncie.
