Tasers were first developed in Zanesville, Ohio in the early 1990s. They were initially used as self-defense devices, but over time they have been used more for crowd control and law enforcement purposes. This can cause temporary paralysis or even death if it hits someone in the heart or brain. There have been several incidents in which people have been killed by tasers after trying to fighting back violently against the device. In one instance, an individual was subdued with a stun gun and then shot and killed after pulling away from the gun. In another instance, an individual was subdued with a stun gun and then shot because he had tried to reach for his knife, which was located at his side. Despite these cases, there is currently no federal law regulating Taser use in the United States. This leaves states such as California with laws governing their own use of tasers – something that needs to change if more people are to be killed by them while resisting arrest or making physical contact with police officers.
Zanesville, Ohio is the birthplace of tasers and their use as a weapon of law enforcement. In 1984, Zanesville Police Department officers used tasers on an unarmed suspect in what was the first time they had been used in that manner. The officer who deployed the taser won a commendation from then-Mayor Stephen L. Sisolak. In 1990, police began using pepper spray as a backup to Tasers when suspects refused to comply with requests for hands-on arrests or verbal commands. This type of arrest became known as "earnest resistance." In 1992, police began using stun guns on people who were making threats or drawing attention to themselves by holding up signs that said "I'm Armed." These devices were also called "taser guns" because they operated like regular stun guns but shot electric energy instead of gas. In 1998, police adopted the policy of giving first use rights to officers carrying tasers before allowing civilians to carry them without this right. This change was made so that more people could experience how effective these weapons could be and make decisions about whether or not to use them in contextually sound situations. Zanesville is a city in the southern portion of Ohio, on the Scioto River. The population was 27,851 at the 2010 census. It is located in Lucas County. The site of present-day Zanesville was first settled by Europeans in 1788 as part of the Northwest Territory. In 1814, Zanesville joined the United States as part of the original 24th state and became a town. The name "Zanesville" is derived from John Zane, who purchased land here in 1811 and built a cabin. In 1817, General George Washington visited Zanesville and noted its beauty; he ordered Colonel William Heath to take possession of 150 acres (60 hectares) lying between High Park to the north and Wellston to the south for public use as a public park. This area now makes up most of downtown Zanesville. In 1830, Samuel Ludlow sold 350 acres (160 hectares) east of High Park for $5 per acre ($/hectare). This area became known as "Ludlow's Hill." The town plat was filed on October 3, 1830 with James Atherton as administrator On July 12, 1840, about 50 miles (80 km) west of Cincinnati along US 30 / RR 11 W3X4R2A3V3P4W1Q7M1F2K6D9—the same road that later ran through Cincinnati—Captain Edward Hutton disembarked his vessel "Hancock" at what is now called Union Point on Lake Erie's North Branch near today's downtown Cleveland – just inland from where modern day First Street crosses over into Lake Erie – and began what would become one of America’s longest continuous wagon trains marching westward across country Via Buffalo Bill’s route over Sandusky Bay towards Fort Wayne Indiana until they reached Independence Hall circa September 20 Prairie du Chien WI 46920 in order to deliver petitions addressed thereto directly to President Harrison! These were not “standard” wagon train days any longer but rather much more involved itinerary with stops enroute including river crossings over sandbars/barriers plus Manistee & Muskegon Lakes before reaching Chicago! No sooner had Captain Hutton disembarked than he ordered his teamsters ashore again via paddles only this time without delay after making landfall he went directly onto Government House grounds commandingeer local militia men who came ashore too alongside him under orders from Captain Hutton himself while himself being guarded by 2 companies Ulysses S Grant’s Infantry Regiment which arrived contemporaneously at this point thence onward marching direct back downriver past current I believe we took approximately 7 hoursraw feet moving averaging nearly 10 mph compared then upcurrent today taking approximately 8 hours even still moving average nearly 15 mph NOTE: There are several stories abouthow strong current could have been pulling boats upstream during those early morning hoursm such artifacts found downstreamnearby today testifying to very high water levels at that time
Tasers have been used in law enforcement for over 50 years. They were originally designed as a less-lethal weapon to be used after lethal shots had been fired, and it was only later that they became available as a civilian weapon. In 1993, the United States Congress passed the Taser Act which legalized tasers in the US. The act also created regulatory agencies to oversee their use. In 2006, an amendment to the Taser Act made it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to possess or use tasers without parental consent. As of 2019, there are over 20 million taser owners in the US.

Zanesville is located in the heart of Ohio, just east of Cincinnati. The city was founded in 1796 by Captain George Zane and his wife Susannah. The first settlers were farmers who grew corn, beans, and wheat. In 1814, Zanesville was renamed for General Anthony Wayne after he helped lead the American victory at Fallen Timbers. In the 1830s, Zanesville became a manufacturing center with mills that produced flour, cloth, candles, and other products. In 1840, the town had 5 hundred residents and was home to a Normal School and an arsenal. By 1860, Zanesville hadgrown to over 10 thousand residents with a library and several churches. The town lost its status as an industrial center after the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825 which made transportation much easier for goods to reach markets in Kentucky and Pennsylvania. However, parts of Zanesville have been restored including its downtown district which is now known as "The Brick District".
Zanesville was founded in 1795 by General Anthony Wayne and his cavalry. The town grew rapidly due to its strategic location at the intersection of two major highways, the Erie Canal and the Ohio Turnpike. In 1825, Zanesville became a county seat and it has since grown into one of the largest cities in Ohio.
