Zanesville, Ohio is home to the Keystone Firearms Museum and Heritage Center which has a collection of over 350 firearms including handguns, shotguns, rifles, and machine guns. The history of gun swivels can be traced back to 1876 when two brothers from Zanesville founded the Keystone Arms Manufacturing Company. In 1912 the company was renamed the Keystone Firearms Corporation. The company produced pistols and revolvers under various names until it was acquired by Colt in 1938. From 1938-1957 the company produced revolvers for General Motors Corporation subsidiary Southern Pacific Railroad Co.During World War II production ran at a high clip as American soldiers needed pistols to defend themselves against Japanese forces. During this time the company produced 1 million pistols, rifles, shotguns, and machineguns with an average sale price of $2 per weapon. After World War II Keystones products slowed down as competition from other manufacturers increased but they continued to make revolvers until they were phased out in 1957 by Colt’s parent company American National Armory Incorporated (ANAS).

Zanesville is a city in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 54,812 at the 2010 census. Zanesville is the largest city in Lucas County and the fifth-largest city in Ohio. It is located on the east bank of the Scioto River adjacent to Cleveland and less than an hour's drive from Columbus. The first known inhabitants of what is now Zanesville were two parties of Shawnee Indians who arrived there in 1799 from Illinois. They named their new town Niles after John Niles, an officer with General Anthony Wayne's army during the American Revolution. The first white person to live in what is now Zanesville was James Purnell, who purchased land there in 1806. He built a cabin on a bluff overlooking the Scioto River and laid out a town called Purnellstown to house his slaves while he waited for reinforcements to come support him against Andrew Jackson's forces at Horseshoe Bend during the Battle of Horseshoe Bend on October 15, 1811 (). Niles became part of Cleveland by Act 3 of 1827; however, it continued to be called Purnellstown until 1830 when it was renamed Zanesville for James Zane, one of its original settlers. In 1836, Zanesville had a population of 538 people and was incorporated as a village; however, it reverted back to its original name upon incorporation intoLucas County as one of six townships (along with Ashtabula Township and Mentor Township) on November 30, 1846 (). In 1870–71 George Fenton built Fenton Mill on East State Street just south of Main Street; this mill provided flour for local merchants until 1915 when it closed down due to economic difficulties. During World War I Various munitions plants were constructed along Scioto River but only one – Wernher von Braun’s Rocketdyne Plant – actually produced anything useful; nevertheless ground zero for America’s space program began here! On March 16th 1948 Mayor Harry Clements announced that "the plant will close forever" because “the Korean War had made aluminum very scarce” (). However no closure took place as George Fenton died suddenly just four days later without having seen his mill go offline;; however his wife did manage to salvage enough aluminum cans so that her husband's dream comes true! Zanesville has experienced many changes throughout its history including being platted as an agricultural community with corn production becoming more important then steel production following World War II; becoming part of Cleveland after losing industry during Korea War while still retaining some manufacturing downtown resulting in becoming much more diverse culturally than when founded primarily thanks largely to various art exhibitions which have taken place Downtown over time such as "American Indian Art: A Collection Of Paintings And Drawings", "Ohio Renaissance Art: A Collection Of Painting And sculpture", "Asian American Arts: A Collection Of Paintings And drawings" among others Today it remains quite diverse with numerous cultural events taking place both large and small within & outside its boundaries making it yet another vibrant community experiencing growth each day!

Zanesville is a city in the Mentor-Lake Orion, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area and it was founded on December 12, 1824. The population was 43,902 at the 2010 census. Zanesville is located at (41.319711, -87.818481). The first settler in what is now Zanesville was John Ensign who arrived in 1824 with his family from Connecticut. He built the first cabin on the west bank of the Olentangy River and named it "Ensign." In 1830, he married Sarah Kinsley and they started a small grocery store where they sold goods until their death in 1872. Their son John also established a grocery store and ran it until 1902 when he sold it to his brother-in-law George Hoadly Jr.. In 1903, Hoadly Junior donated land for Zanesville's original town square which still stands today. The square has been occupied by many different businesses over the years including Checkers Casino which opened in 1984 and closed in 2013; JCPenney which opened in 1954; Peet's Coffee & Tea which opened in 1944; PNC Bank branch No. 1 which began operations on November 15, 2004; FirstEnergy Center of Champions LLC – also known as The Palace – which was completed on December 5th of that year; United WeStand restaurant – also known as "The Triangle" – which opened its doors on December 17th and closed its doors July 29th of this year after serving food for more than 50 years.; two movie theaters: Regal Cinemas IMAX 4D Stadiums located downtown and AMC Loews Expressions located off University Avenue across from Lakeshore Mall;; several smaller businesses such as Chevrolet Dealership (now an AARP member), Ford dealership (now an Meijer member), Radio Shack;; three libraries: City Library reopened on October 14th of this year after being closed for renovations since May 2007 due to damage caused by a fire that destroyed much of their equipment.; four museums: American History Museum -opened February 2nd of this year }; In 1907, Mayor Edward Fenton purchased 8 acres along Olentangy River between State Road 706 (now US 24) and 708 (now US 421) for $2,500 from Edwin Witherspoon II who had bought 300 acres adjacent to present day Zanesville back then. This parcel became the site of Witherspoon High School., later renamed Zanesville Technical High School., before becoming part of Central Reserve Middle School District #4 upon its establishment within that district on September 25th 1969. On October 14th 1909, City Council authorized erection of brick buildings to house both Municipal Courtrooms Department And Jail/ jailer’s office situated easton main street between Second Street And Third Street lot number 3 adjoining corner lot number 6 thence northwesterly one hundred thirty feet easterly one thousand five hundred fifty feet westerly six hundred fifty feet southwesterly one thousand five hundred seventy feet westwesterly one thousand nine hundred fifty feet under said lots line breaking out at right angles into lots Nos 2 through 16 inclusive thence northerLY up stream one thousand five hundred eighty four rods westerly following said lines northwestward one thousand nine miles to milepost 914 thence southerLY down stream one thousand five hundred eighty two rods westerylievening said lines northerLY towards Ulysses S Grant National Historic Site thence easterLY along said lines southwestershiip taking into account a point near mouth thereof making distance 914 rods according to survey." Zanesville Township was organized on March 10TH 1837 by act Of Congress 319 Geo IV c 381.} It boundaries are defined as follows:- Northwest sideOLENTANGY RIVER SOUTHWESTERN PARTYjoining West side about midway thereabouts} Northeast Side OLENTANGY RIVER NORTHEAST PARTY joining South side about midway thereabouts}.
