So when George Washington announced his intentions to move eastward through what are now central Ohio across Lake Erie into New York State during his Farewell Address in 1785, many people followed suit and formed a group called "The Patriot Boys" intent on defending their borders if needed should their homeland be invaded by any European country during that time period - something that did not happen but another event could have happened where their homes could have been seized or they could have been arrested if caught working for Great Britain without proper documentation which would have landed them right back where they started!
