Xenia is a city located in Xenia Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 11,895 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Butler County after Willoughby and the third-largest city in Warren County. Xenia was founded by George Washington Carver in 1875 as a small town on the east side of Xenia River. In 1907 it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 8,000. The city's growth continued through World War II as Greater Xenia served as the primary industrial center for area production during that time period. After the war, however, Growth slowed and Xenia lost its status as an urban center until Interstate 277 and other economic changes transformed it into an important cultural and commercial center within central Ohio during the late 1990s and early 2000s. In addition to its public schools, two private schools are also located in Xenia: Oakwood Academy (K-12) and Stroudsburg Preparatory (High school).

Xenia, Ohio is a small town in the heart of the United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo metropolitan area. Xenia has been settled by Europeans since 1795 when Major General George Washington and his troops camped there during their retreat from Saratoga Springs, New York after defeating British forces in that battle. The first permanent settler in Xenia was Nicholas Larkin who came to Xenia in 1803 with his family from Boston. Larkin founded Xenia on April 12, 1805 as a post office under the name of "Larkinsburgh." In 1807, he donated land for an academy which became known as Western Reserve University. In 1830, Larkin's son-in-law Jacob Riis purchased 8 acres (3 km²) of land north of Xenia and built a sawmill on it called Riisville. This mill continued to be run until 1907 when it was converted into an advertising agency named afterJacob Riis and later used by GMC Corporation as their research center until its sale to Brown University in 1969. In 1895, Xenia had a population of 184 people but by 1910 it had grown to 1,821 residents; most of whom were white Protestants living around what is now downtown Xenia and parts of the rural areas east and west of town. The growth rate throughout much of this period can be attributed largely to two factors: First was xenophobia – or fear or dislike toward immigrants – which increased following World War I when many Americans feared that they might become enmeshed in Germany’s war effort; second was railroad development which created new opportunities for businesses located near larger cities such as Cleveland and Buffalo while reducing competition for jobs outside these cities. Although xenophobic sentiment remained common well into the 21st century, xenophobic violence did not occur frequently enough to cause lasting harm outside of local businesses or individuals targeting immigrants overall (although some anti-immigrant rallies did take place). However one incident did take place on October 14th 1999 during what would beknown as “the night before America went crazy” - when nationalist groups set fire to several buildings including a synagogue within minutes of each other across eastern Ohio causing extensive damage and $1 million dollars worth in losses both inside and outside Xeniatownship limits A number of other incidents took place over time but these are generally considered less serious because they typically involved vandalism or no damage at all rather than arson attacks against targets specifically targeted due to their religious affiliation (e.g., churches).Despite these low levels of intensity however occasional acts like this do create tension among communities large and small alike which can lead ultimatelyto further conflict if not managed effectively
