There are many different types of triggers that can be used to fire firearms. The most common type of trigger is the pull-trigger, which is simply a metal rod that is inserted into a firearm's magazine and pulled back to fire the weapon. Other common triggers include striker triggers and safety triggers. Sticker or pen trigger systems were first developed in the 1800s as an alternative to pull-trigger systems. They relied on attaching a stick or other object directly to the firing pin, which would then be pulled back to fire the weapon. These systems were very reliable, but required more maintenance than pull-trigger systems. The early strikers differed from later pistols in that they had two striking surfaces: one near the front of the gun and one near the rear. This made them much more efficient when fired, as each strike caused enough force to launch the projectile far away from its target. Xenia, Ohio is a town located in the Muskingum County, Ohio area. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. Xenia has been inhabited since Indian times and it was first known as Piquatheaga by the Shawnee. It was established in 1812 and from 1815 to 1830 it served as site of a United States military post called Fort Defiance. In 1821, Xenia became part of the Northwest Territory and in 1825 it became part of Muskingum County. The town was incorporated on March 14, 1865. The first settler in Xenia was John Bemis who arrived in 1812 when he and his family were moving westward from Cincinnati via land grant from Governor Miami Thompson. He built an log cabin on the current site of Xenia on the Scioto River where he named it Piquatheaga after his native village in France. By 1830, there were about 25 people living in Piquatheaga with four or five stores, four houses, and two outbuildings used for farm purposes only. In that year a group of Mennonites from Pennsylvania under Pastor Daniel Pinckney came downriver to purchase land near Xenia for their own religious mission station called Beattyville which they founded on July 5th, 1830. They soon realized that they needed more water so they built a dam upstream which impounded much of the Scioto River necessary for their operations downstream at Beattyville while also providing them with power for their early-19th century enterprises such as sawmills and gristmills; however these operations ceased due to unreliable access to water sources during dry periods (i.e.,1850s). In 1850s construction began again on adam downstream at Beattyville but this time by local farmers who had obtained deeds creating what would become known as Township Lake Erie No 3 including most of present day Muskingum County; however this project too failed because inadequate flooding caused by heavy rains made dredging difficult and profitability low due to low quality sand/shale material being used throughout project area which limited both width (30 feet)and depth (2 feet). In 1870 Wright Brothers flew commercial flights over Muskingum County when aircraft could not be brought downriver so support facilities were constructed along riverfront at Xenia airport today making xenial aviation history; however this airport eventually closed due shortage of runway space during Prohibition era although some small planes still fly there today using Hangar 11 hangar Conversion Facility created primarily for this purpose.)
