Xenia is a small town in Ohio, located about 20 miles north of Cleveland on the Xenia-Muncie county line. The population was 2,948 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dayton metropolitan area and is home to the Wright Brothers National Memorial Museum and Aviation Heritage Center. Xenia was founded in 1881 by Presbyterian missionaries as an agricultural settlement called Indian Springs. The name xenia comes from an ancient Greek word meaning "peaceful." In 1912, the town changed its name to Xenia after Princess Elizabeth of England who visited Dayton for a trade show. The local paper at that time announced that "The Name xenia Says Everything About Our Community" and it has been used ever since! Xenia is one of those towns where you can feel like anything is possible because there are so many different interests within its boundaries! There are people who live here full time, people who just move here every few years, or people who have lived here all their lives! There's something for everyone here! One thing that makes Xenia such a great place to live is its natural resources. You can find oil shale in the area and other minerals that could be used for products like asphalt or concrete! Plus, there are plenty of things to do in addition to farming or ranching if you're interested in pursuing those options! Xenia also has a strong sense of community spirit which helps make it one of the most welcoming places to live anywhere! People here always want to help each other out no matter what and they always look out for each other's best interests! This friendly attitude makes Xenia one of my favorite places to live because it feels like everyone knows each other well already - no need for introductions !

Xenia is a small town in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,843 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Xenia was first settled in 1811 by English colonists as part of the Northwest Territory. The name Xenia is derived from Greek mythology's character Xanthippe, who was born in Asia Minor and moved to Athens to study law before returning home and working his way up in business. In 1814, Xenia was chartered as a village by an act of the General Assembly of Ohio. The village had a post office from 1815 until it closed in 1903. In 1830, Xenia erected a schoolhouse and two churches which remain standing today; Saint Michael's Episcopal Church (1830) and Christ Episcopal Church (1830). Xenia experienced its peak development during the early 20th century due to its location within commuting distance for jobs in Akron and Canton as well as access to transportation including railroads and buses that made it easy for businesses to reach their customers. However, since then there have been several small drops in population throughout the years due to factors such as job loss or moving away from economic opportunities such as broadband internet service becoming available near by like it has become more common these days among larger communities with bourgeoning economies. Nonetheless, xeniatopians continue to make an impact on society through their work ethic and love of community involvement both locally and statewide
Xenia was founded in 1812 by General James Wilkinson and his wife, Sarah. The town was named after the Xanthi tribe of Greece. It was a village before it became a town, and as such had no municipal government. Xenia's first school opened in 1824. The first store opened in 1830. In 1840, the first post office opened in Xenia.
