In 1898, Smith & Wesson merged with Colt Industries, forming what is now known as Colt Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of United States Arms Corporation (USAC). The Ammunition Manufacturing Company produced ammunition for many different firearms over the years. Some of their most famous products include: Winchester Model 1892 lever-action rifles, Remington 870 shotguns, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), and Mauser 98k pistols. After World War II, production shifted to China due to increased Demand from allies such as Japan and Korea. However, Ammo Manufacturing Company still produces munitions today under various brand names including: Winchester Repeating Arms Co., Sig Sauer Munitions LLC., Federal Cartridge Corp., etc.

Xenia, Ohio is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. The Xenia post office was established in 1833 and discontinued in 1957. Xenia is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton metropolitan area. Xenia was founded by George Washington Smith and his wife, Esther A., on July 9, 1833 as a small village on the Scioto River near present-day Mentor. They named it after their patron deity Xenophon (or Xoanthus), which they read about during an extended visit to Athens. At first there were only two homes in the village--one for Smith and one for his wife. In 1834, the couple erected a log cabin with outbuildings at what is now Park Street and built other residences around it over time. In 1840, George Washington Smith died suddenly while traveling to Cincinnati; his widow continued to live in Xenia until her death in 1865. Esther A.'s remains are buried next to her husband's at Elmwood Lawn Cemetery east of Xenia proper on Old Cypress Road (now Ulysses Road). The Village of Xenia was reorganized into Township government beneath Municipal Government laws effective March 1st 1830 when Cuyahoga County became organized from portions of Lorain County under Governor John Prentice [1824-29]. On October 15th 1836 Township residents appointed three trustees who served for four years each: James Dickey (1937–39), Wm Haggerty (1840–42) and Ebenezer Sargent (1843–45). The Trustees leased land parcels from Peter Geddes Sr.. By 1850 there were 106 dwellings with a population/household of 694/. In January 1861 Township residents created a new school district which included all present day Xenia within its boundaries including houses that had been built since before township organization but without schools! This action provided funds necessary to build brick school buildings on two tracts adjacent to Akron’s Turnpike south of Clearfield Lake beginning September 1st 1861….. On February 8th 1870 Jno Kapp purchased 2 lots adjoining School District line & donated them back to Township for use as public square….This dedication marked the first real development or permanent erection within our limits since we formed existence – some 54 years ago! The original School District boundary lines shifted frequently due Population growth alongnutrient rich eastern borderlands….. As early as 1889 “the York Factory Land Company” conveyed 3 lots lying northwest corner School District line & extending westward 10 rods towards Columbiana River&northwest corner School District line embracing lot containing old home place of Mrs . Fenton now known as Euclid Avenue…… Containing 400 acres more than any other lot ever sold by this company’s agents outside our limits….. After many failed attempts by superintendents trying different routes thru numerous townships we reached Mr . Everett who offered us 600 acres EAST OF CLEVELANDAN RIVER opposite Ottawa Mills Congregational Church site having been owned by same family 4 Generations ago……………… We accepted (& still enjoy legal title)……………… Our land located just SW side of OHIO STATE LINE running down center line between York Factory Lands Co.–owned East Side & Ottawa Mills Congregational Church Site… ..... First Presbyterian church building constructed here also
