Worthington is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white settler in what would become Worthington was Christopher Worthington Jr., who arrived in 1814. He and his family were among the original settlers on the east side of present day Lorain Road in what is now the town of Worthington. Other early residents included John Hammond (1792-1847), Nicholas Hynes (1794-1860), and Ebenezer Brown (1800-1868). On July 4, 1825, John Piggott bought from Nicholas Hynes three shares of land comprising . Piggott named his new township "Worthington", after his old home village of Warrington in England where he had been born a mere six months earlier. By 1830, over 100 homes had been built in what would eventually become Worthington Township. Many of these homes were erected by Peter DeWitt who owned land adjoining Piggott's township as well as Lots Nos. 7 and 8 on Darlington Road which lie within today's boundaries of Walled Lake Township. In 1828, George Stephenson built the first railroad line through Cuyahoga County when he laid track from Akron to Mentor using sections diverted from mainline trains running between Cleveland and Toledo via Uniontown Junction less than two miles north of present day Lorain Road/Route 10 intersection near today's northeast corner of Walled Lake Township boundary with Walled Lake Township proper; this line became known as Stephensonstown Line or simply "the Stephenson Line". One year later (March 29th 1829), Daniel Webster purchased one share in Stephensonstown Line from George Stephenson for $5 000 – becoming one of only two men ever to own stock in a railway company during its earliest days! In 1830 also settlement began at Pleasant Point on Darlington Road just south and west of present day Park Square Shopping Center; this location would soon be known as North Park Square due to its rich agricultural soil and fine architecture dating back to that time period! In 1836 James Ketchum entered into an agreement with Stephen Fenton whereby Ketchum agreed to purchase allaces within Philadelphia & Erie Railroad Company limits so long as noxious weeds notwithstanding being grown therein could not be prolifically generated orchards etc.; thus Protected Acres became part of Ketchum Settlement which stretched along both sides Of current day West Side Highway across From Euclid Avenue north To Willow Run Boulevard east And South To State Route 1 near today's southeast corner Of suburban Mason Village - making it one stop shopping center complete with gasoline station convenience store chain outlet mall located adjacent thereto still operating - making it also one stop shop center when travelling north On I-675 thru Exit 15A off ramps onto US 422 east And south To I-580 just past interchange Intersection With I-680 southbound about 5 miles Northwest Of downtown Cleveland - making it also unofficially considered by some authorities Downtown Cleveland although officially located northwest Of downtown on CLEVELAND ROAD between Cedar Rd./Lakewood Blvd./Norman Ave./Thornberry Rd./Mt Carmel Dr./Chestnut St.(parking lot #2) This area stretching along today's southwest corner Of suburban MasonVillage & joiners Columbus Circle NW&I–675widest concave loop highway serving principally urban areas situated chiefly within five miles Wayne County including Detroit(MI)-Windsor(ON)& Buffalo(NY)-Schenectady(NM)& Utica(NY))

He recommended that America establish a military garrison at Fort Wayne to provide protection for western Upper Canada against British aggression. Nineteenth century explorer Andrew Jackson Jr., who later served as president, also visited Worthington in 1806 while exploring along the Scioto River region west of Cincinnati. At that time, Worthington consisted only of two huts log structures built by Indians on what is now Main Street between Water Street and Washburn Avenue North
