The company manufactured and sold target sights, trigrams, and other sighting devices for shotguns, rifles, pistols and hunting ammunition. In 1949, Harry Shaffer's grandson bought the company and continued to produce fine firearm sight products under the Shaffer Name until it was purchased by S&W Arms in 1987. Today, S&W Arms continues to produce high-quality firearms sight products under the Harry Shaffer name.

It is located on the eastern edge of Cleveland andaumont Hills, Precincts 10 and 11 on the east side of Cleveland Heights, and Precinct 5 on the west side of Cleveland. Willowick was founded by George Sutherlin in 1812 as a small trading post named "WinkSemitism." The town grew rapidly during the nineteenth century due to its location near major transportation arteries and its access to natural resources such as coal, lumber, and agricultural land. In 1872, Willowick became a city when it merged with neighboring Amherst Township. During World War II, Willowick played an important role in production for American military munitions plants in western Ohio. In 1945-1946, WillowICK also housed one of America's largest open-air air movie theaters which screened feature films using projectors that could be seen from anywhere in central Ohio
