Wickliffe is a small town in Morrow County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,749 at the 2010 census. Wickliffe is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. It is named after Colonel John Wickliffe, a signer of the United States Constitution. The first settler in what is now Wickliffe was George Whitehead. He built a log cabin on the present site of town in 1811. A post office called Wickliffe was established in 1812, and remained in operation until 1821. In 1814, Isaac Brockman erected a frame store and grain elevator on Main Street. The town's first school was built that year by teacher James Burtis. Wickliffe became an incorporated village in 1903 when it annexed the adjacent unincorporated community of Xenia (now Xenia Heights). The village had no permanent residents until 1907 when it welcomed settlers from nearby Arlington Heights who were constructing a new industrial park near their settlement. In 1911, voters approved incorporation of what are now Wadsworth Township and Xenia Township; both were later merged into Morrow County as part of the statewide process known as reapportionment following World War I(). On April 16, 1912, Wickliffe's first post office opened with mail being sent from Xenia to Wadsworth through local farmer Wm Hoggs' barn-raising operation; this service continued until 1915 when mail began arriving exclusively from Columbus via primary road running through Xenia and Wadsworth villages (the current route being laid out by developers during the late 1990s)). A flour mill was built on Main Street in 1914 by James Burtis and operated for several years before being taken over by Champion Flour Mills Inc., which closed it down in 1928 after making much profit but experiencing heavy losses related to its competition from more modern mills opening up around that time). In 1916 Captain Elisha Swayne organized a volunteer fire department which remains active to this day and has responded to numerous fires within Wickliff itself and elsewhere since then including two major outbreaks of forest fire which destroyed or damaged many homes between 1948 and 1954; these events helped plant the seed for today's strong volunteer firefighter tradition within the community]. In 1951–1952 Hickory Hills Development Company constructed an apartment complex on land north of where Main Street crossed Hicks Road/Xenia Rd.; this development also included retail space initially used by Champion Flour Mills Inc.'s grocery store before becoming home to various businesses over time including numerous restaurants (including one designed specifically for children – Pigeon Park Eatery – open since 1978), nightlife establishments (such as Joe's Steakhouse & Arcade), as well as three theaters: One depicting American Western movies outdoors under dome lights inside an amphitheater while live music played throughout nightly; another exhibiting Broadway shows outdoors with indoor seating available for special events indoors during off hours; finally one featuring classic Chinese theatrical plays outdoors with indoor seating available for special events indoors during off hours]. . . . [These developments] helped change how people lived near each other so there would be less need for traveling long distances either to work or play."

It wasn't until after World War II that Scope Mounters began becoming increasingly popular among shooters due to their ease of use and ability to easily adapt optics platforms onto most pistols regardlessofgunsmithing skillset or aiming distances). Wickliffe is a city in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,823 at the 2010 census. Wickliffe is located on the Muskingum River and is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was founded by Nicholas Wickliffe in 1810 as a farmstead on the site of what is now the downtown area of Wickliffe. The first churches in Wickliffe were built in 1812 and 1814. The town was platted in1825 and became a village in 1828. In 1830, it became an incorporated town with a market place and two hotels as its main businesses. In 1840, it had 9 full-time residents and 2 business people; by 1850 it had 25 residents and 8 business people. On February 20, 1863, Wickliffe was burned by Confederate forces during the American Civil War while Union forces were attacking nearby Uniontown (). In 1865–66, local Republicans formed a party organization called "The League" to contest Lincoln's re-election as President due to his unpopularity with many Americans following his Emancipation Proclamation. The League failed to gain any ground against Democratic Party nominees but did manage to win three out of four wards in the city elections that year. On November 3, 1868–69 local Republicans again organized their own party organization called "The Western Reserve Republican Party" which won all six wards within city limits including Wickliffe proper; this made up most of what is now Muskingum County (the exceptions being Portage Township). In 1870–71 there were no ward elections because there were only 6 residents living within City Limits plus 1 business person who lived elsewhere within CITY LIMITS AND DID NOT VOTE IN WARD ELECTIONS! This shows that even though City Limits had been annexed into Town Limits some years earlier for legal purposes (it started happening about 1830), citizens still voted individual ward members directly rather than having their vote diluted by those from other wards who also lived inside CITY LIMITS BUT ALSO VOTED IN ELECTIONS FOR THEIR PARTY FOUNDATION COMMITTEE CANDIDATES! After this election debacle however things got better for THE RALLYE - they managed to gain 3 additional seats on THE CITY COUNCIL WITH Clarence Cook taking one seat vacated by David Freeman and John Heaton winning another seat from Virgil Judd (who had represented Ward 4 since incorporation) making him Mayor pro tempore after outgoing Mayor James Laughlin resigned due to health concerns related to rheumatic fever he contracted while serving as Chief Justice of Common Pleas Court - so finally SOMEONE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING WICKLIFE A SAFE PLACE AGAIN! In fact we've held office ever since!! But unlike today where POWER IS ALL THAT MAKES A GOOD COMMUNITY... back then everyone pretty much just functioned like average Joe until something really went wrong!!!

Wickliffe was founded in 1814 by Revolutionary War veterans, including Captain John Wickliffe. The town grew quickly due to its location on the forks of the Cuyahoga River and its natural resources, such as coal and timber. In 1829, Wickliffe became a county seat and remained so until 1915.
