The Wickliffe Gunsmith shop was established in 1887. The first gun there, a muzzleloader, was made by the Samuel H. Wickliffe company. It is still being used today as a gunsmith shop and museum. In addition to muzzleloaders and pistols, the Samuel H. Wickliffe company also made shotguns, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns with octagon barrels (the later designs becoming popularized by John Browning). In 1916, the company merged with Smith & Wesson Corp., creating one of the largest firearms manufacturing empires in America. The Samuel H. Wickliffe Museum is located on the main floor of the old factory building on Lockridge Road in downtown Wickliffe. There are many exhibits about guns from throughout history inside and outside of the museum buildings. One of my favorite things to do at the museum is go up into one of their old cannons that they have preserved for cannonballs to come back down again!

Gun Parts History is a vast and ever-changing field, with a variety of different sources on which to based your research. For the purposes of this essay, I will focus on firearms within the United States, dating back to the early 1800s. One important part of any firearm is its gun parts. This includes both the frame and barrel, as well as all of the components that make up an individual weapon. The history of these parts can be traced back to before even American Independence! In 1775, British colonists began importing small arms from Europe in order to quench their thirst for war. These weapons were originally designed for infantry use and were not meant for mass production. As time passed and more rifles were made, it became necessary to standardize these parts in order to produce consistent products across different factories. Over time, companies began producing their own guns using standardized parts that could be ordered by anyone regardless of skill level or experience. This allowed soldiers and civilians alike to purchase quality firearms without having to worry about making mistakes or missing key pieces! In 1866, Winchester Firearms Company announced they would begin manufacturing rifle barrels specifically for revolver cartridges! This was an unheard-of move at the time because revolver cartridges were still relatively new and had yet to gain widespread popularity outside of military usage. However, this decision later helped define Winchester Firearms Company as one of America’s leading firearms manufacturers! During World War II (1939-1945), many German handguns used stamped steel receivers instead of cast brass ones in order reduce cost and complexity. The use of stamped steel caused some problems due to cracks in these receivers which could lead to malfunctioning handguns. While stamping methods have since been replaced by welding techniques on many occasions, the practice has left its mark on firearm design!

Wickliffe was a town in Ross County, Ohio, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. Wickliffe is now an unincorporated community in Delaware Township. The town was founded on the west bank of the Scioto River by wealthy landowner and politician Isaac Wickliffe in 1811. It became a post office on October 1, 1813, and its name changed to Wickliffe on January 1, 1846. The community had a school until it closed in 1903. In 1911, Wickliffe had two churches: First Presbyterian (later Dutch Reformed) and Methodist Episcopal. In 1922, both churches merged into one church called First Baptist Church of Wickliffe which remains today as the main church for the town. Wickliffes were major producers of hay and other livestock products during the 1840s-1860s; their output increased when railroads came through the area in the early 20th century. However, this production stopped after World War II due to industry consolidation throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania; since then production has been mostly limited to processed foods such as chips and candy bars.
Wickliffe was founded in 1792 by John Wickliffe and his wife Susannah. The town was named for Colonel George Wickliffe, who had settle there in the early 1800s. In 1811, Wickliffe became the county seat of Jefferson County.
