On July 4th 1861 General Ulysses S Grant ordered an attack against Fort Donelson near Chattanooga, Tennessee which resulted in more than 200 dead Confederate soldiers and 30000 casualties on Union side only 5 months after end of American Civil War In 1886 four local boys - Hiram Wigglesworth (1874-1953), Harvey Houghton (1876-1959), Clifford Berryman (1878-1965) and Harold Huffaker (1900-) - started a paper mill that would eventually become known as First National Bank & Trust Company due to their importance in this industry during early years
