In the early 1800s, a group of engineers in Whitehall, Ohio were working on a new way to convert natural gas into electricity. They came up with the idea of using an open-air furnace to heat up the gas and then turn it into steam. This process would produce more power than any other means they knew of at that time. The engineers were able to build their first open-air furnace in 1819 and it worked well. However, they soon realized that this type of oven didn't have enough power to compete with existing electric generators. So they decided to build a new type of furnace that would use the heat from an engine to generate electricity. The engineers called this type of furnace an "engineer's heater." It was very successful and allowed them to become one of the leading companies in the industry. Over the years, these same engineers continued working on turning natural gas into electricity and eventually became known as "The Electric Company." Today, The Electric Company is still one of the most successful companies in terms of converting energy sources into electrical energy.

Whitehall is a town located in Findlay County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lima-Muncie-Worthington, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted in 1821 by Andrew White and James Prentice. The first courthouse was built in 1824 and the first school opened in 1826. The post office was established in 1830 and named Whitehall after Andrew White's farmstead on the Scioto River. In 1840, John Dickson proposed a railroad through the town to serve Cincinnati; but this proposal died when Congress did not appropriate money for it. In 1861, Confederate General Philip Sheridan attacked Union forces near Whitehall while they were resting during their march from Cairo to Point Pleasant; though these attacks failed to materialize as Union forces advanced further into Ohio, they did cause some damage to private property in that area. In 1865, Yellow Fever broke out in Toledo and quickly spread throughout central Ohio; within two weeks of its arrival there had been over 50 Deaths from fever alone according to one report. whitehall native Dr Jesse Jones became infected with yellow fever while serving as an American doctor fighting off the disease on various battlefields throughout America before he succumbed at home on November 2nd 1865 aged 27 years old According to the 2010 census, Whitehall has 1,812 residents (of which 714 are male)

Whitehall was founded in 1815 as a small community on the Scioto River. In 1824, the village of Whitehall merged with the towns of Mount Auburn and New Albany to form what is now Muskingum County. The first settler in Whitehall was John Fenton, who arrived in 1814 from London, England. In 1830, white men organized a Methodist church and added land to their settlement for development as a town. The town's first school opened in 1833 and its first post office was established in 1840. The Panic of 1837 led to heavy consumption by farmers leading to rapid deforestation that caused water shortages and soil erosion; these problems were worsened by railroad construction nearby which disturbed agricultural production and increased competition for resources from mills and factories throughout Ohio. By the end of the decade, however, Clear Fork Rapids had been drained completely so that settlers could begin developing new land around it; this redevelopment helped revive Whitehall's economy during the 1840s and 1850s while also reducing environmental damage done by previous farming practices. In 1860–1861, local residents successfully lobbied Congress to pass legislation creating Muskingum County; this action helped spur further development within Whitehall during subsequent decades as businesses began constructing roads and bridges across the Scioto River so that goods could be transported directly from Cincinnati or Dayton to marketplaces all over Ohio without having to journey through southern Indiana or Kentucky (which at that time constituted much of western Pennsylvania). Many aspects of postwar American culture were based upon notions about racial purity &EOI&: lynching rates soared after Reconstruction ended while quotas soon became mandated for various job-seekers including Blacks/hispanics especially once factories reopened following World War II.; however according to some researchers these quotas did little more than create additional competition bidding up prices for goods essential for everyday life while ultimately leaving many rural whites behind economically & socially speaking due mainly to lack thereof accession rights granted under Taft-Hartley Act passed shortly afterwards angularly increasing income disparity between urban & rural areas across entire nation.).
