Whitehall is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown, OH–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current mayor is Democrat Dwight Adams and the town's first selectman is Republican Rick Ziegler. The town was platted in 1821 by John Whitehall and James Day. A post office was established in 1824, and named Whitehall after John Whitehall's home country of England. The name change came about because of strong political opposition to Benjamin Harrison's presidential candidacy based on his role as aU Erie Canal builder. In 1840, the land that now makes up Whitehall was donated by Nicholas Brown to George Washington Carver for Agricultural purposes; Carver founded Tuscarawas County along with other towns nearby in 1846. In 1850, Edward Jorgensen bought an acreage northwest of town from Nicholas Brown and laid out what would become Whitehall Township on this land. Whitehall had one railroad station until it closed down in 1970 due to low ridership rates; however, some freight traffic continues to come through today via US-131/US-224 corridors running north-south just east of the village site along I-675 near Cantonment Rd./SR 514 (formerly SR 529).

Thisweaponlight had several important features which allowed it to be much more accurate than previous handguns lights: First, it utilized a helical reflector instead of just a simple mirror like other gunsights; Second, it could maintain homing accuracy over long distances; Finally, it featured an automatic timer so that each shot couldn’t go off twice! This innovative gunlight would eventually become known as simply “Konstantinov’s Gun Lamp” after its discoverer! In 1893 however, another Russian scientist named Lev Nikolaevich Konstantinov developed what is now know as Konstantinov's WifeLight (KWL), which became extremely popular among law enforcement officers because it featured variable brightness settings and Manual Timer Functionality! Whitehall is a census-designated place in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,682 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1814 by General Robert E. Lee and his forces as an encampment on the Scioto River between what are now Whitehall and Akron. From its early days, Whitehall served as a military outpost during the American Revolution and later became known for its production of corn whisky and other agricultural products. In 1872, Whitehall became one of two towns in Summit County to be incorporated; the other being Akron. The town's growth continued through the 1920s and 1930s as it became an important transportation hub for southeast Ohioans traveling to Cleveland or Akron. By 1940, Whitehall had become one of only a handful of small towns in Summit County that still remained unincorporated after annexation by Cleveland. A large housing development called "Mellon Landing" was completed around 1960 within whitehall limits; however, most residents moved away during the late 1970s when suburban growth began to take hold in neighboring communities outside of downtown Cleveland. In recent years, though continuing to maintain a small population size (less than 1,000 people), Whitehall has seen significant redevelopment activity with new businesses opening up and some traditional retail stores closing out their doors due to competition from online retailers such as Amazon and Walmart . While many aspects have changed since 1950 - including technological advances which have made it easier for residents to connect with each other through social media - there are also some elements that remain constants such as its location on State Route 655 close to both Interstate 80 and Interstate 71 - making it easy access both into Downtown Cleveland and points northward along I-71
Whitehall was founded in 1812 by George White and the town of Easton. The name for the village was chosen because it is located on a hill, which made it an ideal location for a small town. Whitehall grew rapidly after its incorporation as a village, and by 1827 there were ten businesses in the community. In 1829, Whitehall's first school was built and remained in use until 1951. The first post office opened in Whitehall in 1833. By 1840, the population of Whitehall had grown to over 100 residents. In 1851, the village became part of Findlay County when it was created from parts of Audrain and Wayne counties.
