On February 25, 1909 – during World War I – President Woodrow Wilson delivered his keynote address at Western Reserve Institute at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where he announced that America would enter World War I based on an agreement made with Spain earlier that year. Consequently many people living near military installations along the Great Lakes region volunteered for military service and some even left their homes to serve overseas camps during WWI as well as afterwards when hostilities ended. After WWI ended there was much rebuilding which took place mostly within towns within mutual boundaries rather then having individual communities go through all this effort just to have their community renamed again 10 years later? This led to another problem because many residents had moved out or died without leaving behind any children who would inherit their property if they died before their parents did- so these communities essentially reverted back to unincorporated status but with full voting rights since each town got two members on the board for school district issues etc etc etc... And same goes for villages like Westlake which developed around military bases/towns but didn't actually get full cityhood until 1957... kinda like how Akron Falls got its charter from Athens Municipal Council back in 1912 but eventually played second fiddle due to Defiance being bigger and more populous... So while name change shenanigans went on some good things happened such as increased tourism due to all this re-branding going on which has helped contribute heavily towards economic growth over the years

Nilesville served as an army depot until 1830 when it was discontinued because of construction of larger settlements on the west side of lake Erie by settlers including James Kossuth and his brothers David and Nicholas Kossuth. In 1837, Phineas Bickford made a Donation tothe local Methodist Episcopal Church which still stands today and covers most of what is now downtownWestlake. This donation helped support church operations such as education and social services during times when those services were not available elsewhere or were too costly to provide out-of-towners with duplicate programs at their homes; also providing seed money for expansion into more rural areas near Cleveland over time
The area now known as Westlake was originally a part of the Northwest Territory, later the Northwest Territory and then the Indiana Territory. It was included in the United States of America on December 12, 1792. The first permanent settler in what is now Westlake was David Halliday, who arrived on July 1, 1800. He founded a tavern named the White Horse Tavern in what is now North Side Square. On October 25, 1802, Halliday married Rachel Wigglesworth and they moved to what is now EastWest Drive. They raised two children: Rachel Jr. (born 1803) and John Quincy Adams (born 1807). In 1809 Rachel died at home after giving birth to another son; John Quincy Adams became an American politician.[1]
