At first some people objected to being moved so far away from their homes; but within two years they were able to adjust to their new surroundings and enjoy all that Cleveland had to offer. The growth of Westlake has been largely due to its close relationship with its larger sister communities – Dayton (to the south), Sandusky (to the east), Zanesville (just north), and Athens – as well as its position as one of four municipalities within Greater Cleveland's transportation boundaries: I-480 bisects Westlake between Euclid Avenue and Superior Avenue; I-71 runs through East Side Drive across from Westchester Elementary School; and Lake Erie forms one edge of town limits on both sides thereof. Today,Westlake boasts more than 700 residences with easy access to stores or restaurants nearby; several churches including Oneida Methodist Church are located in town center ; dozens of parks dot its landscape ; several schools - including Westminster Christian Academy - offer acclaimed educational programs for children grades K-12 . Numerous shops continue popping up around town providing essential items for life such as groceries, hardware store supplies etc., while kayaking or fishing can be enjoyed on many beautiful local streams nearby

During World War II, many residents lent support to the war effort by working at local factories or helping contribute to veterans' Affairs scams. Although no houses still stand on this site which formed an integral part of downtown Cleveland for over three centuries until demolition began some years ago it does provide an excellent opportunity for visitors explore one aspect - once abandoned farmland - adjacent to modern day neighborhoods like University Circle while continuing watchful eyes on activity around their original setting.
