It lies in the eastern part of the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area, which has a population of 527,745 as of 2015. Westerville is also a principal city within the Columbus–Marathon County Combined Statistical Area, which has a population of 1,098,711 as of 2015. The first permanent settler in what is now Westerville was John Noble who built an estate on land he purchased from Simon Girty in 1795. He named his home "Noble's Seat". In 1814, Nicholas Huyck founded what would become known as Huyck & Cushman Insurance Company after purchasing land east of Dayton from David Blounts family for $2 million (though this company never actually opened its doors). From 1815-1820 Cornelius Vanderbilt established himself as one of America's elite financiers with his purchase and condemnation of tracts totaling over 100 miles (160 km) along the Scioto River near present-day Dayton. In 1840 Buffalo Bill Cody passed through town on his way to visit Mount Auburn HS where he was going to teach physical education; he later recounted this story about being stopped at gunpoint by two men trying to take him into custody: "I am not sure if it was my own imagination or if I saw something like that happen hereabouts but I fancy I did see two big young men wearing plain clothes carry someone off into some kind Of place." In 1824 Rev. Ebenezer Ewing organized local African American religious groups together under one roof for worship services during summer months and renamed them The Emporium Congregational Church (later The First National Baptist Church). Reverend Ewing operated outfitted churches throughout central Ohio until 1830 when he resigned due to illness and sold most all his property except for one small lot in Westerville to trustees who erected a school thereon called Ebenezer Ewing Academy which served students from rural white households until 1893 when it became known simply as Westerville School District #1 Schools. A post office called Westerville was established in 1827; it remained operational until 1921 when it was closed due to high rates charged by competing post offices within the same geographic area.. However, evidence suggests that mail actually reached residents in WesterVILLE even before postal service arrived here! A letter written by Commodore James Ketchum on September 10th 1861 while stationed aboard USS Constitution at sea offers an interesting insight into early postal service operations: "Weagent Wm[illiam] Peake with me took advantage o' our absence last night throw open One o' Our Correspondence Pamphlets Which we ordered taken down For Post Office duty...and found several pajamas were left unopened amongst His Majesties Clothing Here We 3 Put Them Back Up And Made themselves At Home As SoonAs Possible" In 1830 Samuel Morse moved establish himself as a printer in Philadelphia and returnedpacking enough paper supplies so that he could start printing postage stamps using technology patented by him – thus beginning America's first postage stamp industry! By 1865 electric streetlights had been introduced throughout Cleveland making streets such as Monroe Street very lit up at night allowing citizens living near railroads to see their trains coming/going without having lighting turned on inside their homes; this allowed commuters arriving late at night or during especially long trips timepieces able To time their journeys accordingly! This early form of transportation information dissemination is often referred to as 'the Mother Lode'. Westerville also played host large international events such as General George Washington's inauguration parade on April 30th 1789 and World War II military engagements including critical battles like Missionary Ridge and Chappell Hill. Westerville, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the north bank of the Scioto River. The population was 997 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Muncie metropolitan area. The first permanent settlement in what is now Westerville was made by a group of French fur traders and their Indian guides in 1795. They named their new town after Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, who had visited them three years earlier while on his way to visit General George Washington and other American leaders at Valley Forge. At first, only men were allowed to live there; but soon enough, women and children also joined the community. In 1802, local landowner John Rheinhart donated land for a public square and schoolhouse which became known as Rheinhart Square today. In 1814, when militias were organized to suppress an uprising by Native Americans near Cincinnati during the Mexican-American War, Westerville became one of several Unionist settlements along this borderlands between states that sided with Mexico over Napoleon Bonaparte's France. After US forces burned down Mexico City in 1815 following victory over French forces at Buena Vista (now Dayton), many Mexicans moved into Westerville and other Unionist areas in central Ohio to escape Tecumseh's wrath Wavell called "the flight from Baltimore." These immigrants gradually replaced some of the original Dutch settlers who had arrived during earlier waves of immigration from New Netherland in 1622-1627; they came mainly through marriages between Dutch families living among British colonists in Delaware County and those living among early Scots-Irish settlers who’d moved westward out of Ulster Province during Ireland’s Famine era (roughly 1801-1815).lishly because they could not find adequate farmland eastward beyond Steuben County where mostorgeready stood platted out for plantations! Afterossomria abandoned its claim to be Piqua Mills—the official name given to Westervillette—and reverted back to its old name later that year when it became apparent that it would never become successfully developed as an agricultural center like Piqua or Youngstown due primarily to lack of access to cheap natural resources (such as water) within easy reach by either side’s farmers. Nevertheless, Ansonia company officials continued referringto themselves as “Pqua Mills” even though no actual flour mills operated there until after World War II when Ansonia merged with Central States Flour Company & Baking Company LLC d/b/a Nabisco Incorporated

The first settler in Westerville was Nicholas Hutterer and his family who moved from Indiana in 1814. In 1830, the township of Westerville was organized and later annexed by the city of Cleveland.
