There are many gun sights in Westerville, Ohio. The first sights were probably made by Native Americans and given to the early settlers as a sign of war or trade. One of the most famous gun sights in Westerville is the Nathan Hale Monument. This monument honors the life of General Nathan Hale, who was killed in action during the War of 1812. The first white people to live in Westerville were farmers and their families. They started farming around 1810 and built their homes on small plots of land that they managed themselves. By 1830, there were over 100 people living in Westerville. The town grew slowly until it exploded when a group of pioneers moved into the area in 1836 and started trading with Indians. This change led to an increase demand for pistols, so Smith & Wesson decided to produce its own line of pistols using this technology – this led to what is now known as “Smith & Wesson revolvers” being produced starting around 1870/71! This period also saw a growth industry within revolver production:eningivizing blacksmiths adept at forging revolvers into more reliable models without having to use hammer locks or other manhandling methods common on earlier designs; beginning production runs of up to 5500 revolvers a week! With increasing numbers of law enforcement officials becoming interested in owning firearms for protection reasons (particularly during Reconstruction), Colt Firearms introduced its Own Police model [i]n 1887 which featured nickel-plated finish on all frames instead of zinc plating favored before; making it easier for law enforcement officials - especially those operating outof city limits -to distinguish between their personal firearms and those issued by other manufacturers

Westerville is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Mahoning County. The population was 36,811 at the 2010 census, making Westerville the largest city in Mahoning County. It is also one of several large townships within Mahoning County and is part of the Dayton–Springfield–Cincinnati Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted on May 25, 1837 by John Hallett and his brother-in-law Samuel Wellesley. The name Westerville originally referred to a bend in the river near where it now stands. The first settler in Westerville was James Hallett, who arrived around 1836 along with his family from Easton, PA.. On July 8, 1840 settlers James Cammell and Isaac Goode erected a cabin on what is now State Route 6 south of town. They named their new settlement "Westervil" after John Wesley Harder's home place in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania., which they had visited while on their way to purchase land for their farm there. A post office called Westerville was established at this location on October 24, 1840, and remained in operation until December 7, 1850. In 1851 Thorold Davenport built a frame store next to where First National Bank now stands off SR 6 north of town; he continued to operate that business until its closure in 1902. A livery stable operated by Ephraim Fenton opened near present day Fifth Third bank across State Route 6 from downtown Westerville shortly before its demolition in 2006.; In 1856 local farmers started raising crops such as corn and hay at an area east of present day Second Federal Reserve bank building located just east of State Route 6 between Elmira Road (now US 45) vernacularly known as Dutchman's Field (). This area became known as simply "the Farm." In 1870 General Electric erected an electric plant southwest of Dutchman's Field; approximately one mile east of today's intersectionState Route 601 N &StateRoute 620 W (now I-675). At this time many people living around Westerville worked for GE either directly or through contract companies manufacturing equipment at the plant including radios receivers televisions air conditioners clocks etc.; some still work there today as retirees! After years during which no factories were built anywhere near WesterVILLE due to lack of demand or funding local entrepreneurs finally got back into business starting small businesses with dreams about turning them into giant enterprises but sadly most often fall short never reaching profitability like so much else during that time period throughout America especially when it comes to technology startups! In recent years though things have slowly begun TO improve recently we’ve seen startup incubators being founded specifically for tech startups here inside OFRAC which has helped change not only how things are done but also has provided much needed resources both financial & technical assistance! So all things considered good news overall even tho’s things haven’t always been perfect…. But overall I believe that if you really want something bad enough sometimes good will happen! Westerville was founded by David Dixon in 1812 as a small trading post on the Miami and Erie Canal. It became an important manufacturing center during the 19th century, and its Manufacturing District was recognized as one of America's "Fabulous Five" in 1892. During World War II, Westerville played a significant role in helping to make military munitions such as aircraft and tanks available to Allied forces. The city also experienced economic growth after becoming an industrial center; it has since become a major cultural and educational center for central Ohio." The history of Westerville began with David Dixon, who set out from his home town of Champaign in 1812 to found his own small trading post on the Miami and Erie Canal. At first, the post only operated for two months each year due to lack of funds. However, because this location offered good access to farmland north of Dayton, Dixon decided to keep operations going even when money became scarce. In fact, he actually built more than one Trading Post throughout his career- starting with one at Xenia (now part of Cincinnati) before moving on to Ottawa (now part of Akron). Ultimately, these posts helped him make some serious profits which allowed him to establish himself as a successful businessman in Westerville! In 1892, when America's Fabulous Five were announced as recipients thereof -kowski- curtis & co., builders & suppliers thereto - Wm Mclntyre Agency - Interlocking Rubber Co., all pioneer rubber manufacturers - Westervilers began receiving national recognition for their hard work and innovative products! Finally able to display their abilities side-by-side with other top American companies...the Manufacturing Districts exemplified "the spirit that had animated [the country] since its inception."" During World War II, Westerville was an important node within the overall production chain for military munitions like aircraft and tanks thanks largely to its sizable production facilities located close by both inside and outside the city limits! This gave Westervillians an opportunity not just To contribute materially but also socially through involvement in wartime efforts! Additionally,...during peacetime years they have continued developing their businesses into leading edge Companies...ultimately achieving success beyond their humble beginnings."
Westerville was founded in 1795 by Major General James Wilkinson, who named it for his home county of Lancaster, England. The town grew rapidly during the 1800s, and by 1825 had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1868, Westerville became a city and incorporated as such.
