Washington Court House is a former courthouse in the town of Washington, Ohio, United States. The building was completed in 1875 and served as the county seat for Scioto County until 1925. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The courthouse was built at a time when gun lasers were still new technology. When The Federal Building opened in 1902 it housed both Courts of Common Pleas (the lower appellate court) and Superior Courts (the upper appellate court). It also contained a jail and other buildings associated with government functions such as embassies and consulates. The building sat vacant until 1954 when it was converted into apartments known today as One Franklin Street NW in Cleveland Heights which still serve as a judicial center for eastern Ohio .
