Warrensville Heights is a small town located in Mahoning County, Ohio. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named for General Richard Warren, who fought in the American Revolution and later served as an U.S. Senator from Ohio. The first settler in Warrensville Heights was John Parkhurst, who arrived in 1812. In 1827, George Payne built a log cabin on what is now State Road 122B. In 1851, James Fenton moved to Warrensville Heights and started a grocery store. In 1865, he built a frame house that still stands today on Elmwood Avenue near his store. In 1870, Captain Lewis Hargrave settled in Warrensville Heights and opened a grocery store called the "Hargrave Store." He also raised chickens and had a garden. In 1895, Averill Ellis founded the Ellis Manufacturing Company which manufactured bicycles and other products until its closure in 1978. The company building still stands today on Elmwood Avenue near where Fenton's grocery store used to stand; it has been repurposed as apartments since then. Fenton also ran a meat market from his house from 1875-1898 which closed due to health concerns about salmonella poisoning among customers at that time (now known to beFalse). The area around present day Elmwood Ave., between State Rd 122B & State Rd 611A were all swampy land until sometime after 1840 when someone drained it for farming purposes according to local history books - this would make place more likely given early maps of Mahoning County depicting properties along these routes
Scope mounts, also known as tripod mounts or shooting platform, are devices used to attach a rifle or shotgun to a stationary object such as a wall or roof. The use of scope mounts dates back to the beginning of firearms, and many different designs and mountings have been developed over the years. Today, there are several different types of scope mounts available on the market, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The first type of scope mount was the Weaver-style railmount. This type of mount consisted of two pieces: an upper rail that attached directly to the gun's receiver, and a lowerrail which connected to the upper rail. This type of mount was popular because it allowed for easy adjustment of the aiming point; however, it was not very sturdy and could be easily damaged by recoil forces. Another early design was the Picatinny Rail mounting system. This system allowed for multiple attachments at various locations on the rifle/gun body, including front, rear, left/right side and top/bottom positions. However, this type of mount was not very sturdy and required some extra effort to operate; moreover, it could be difficult to move an attached firearm around during combat sessions. The next big advancement in Scope Mounting technology came with the development of Design 1 Eye turrets (also called Snell & Whitney turrets). These turrets were designed specifically for rifles/guns that were equipped with full-time night vision capabilities. As such, they were much more stable than earlierscope mounts and could handle greater recoil forces without being damaged. However, these turrets required additional maintenance than traditional Weaver-style rails; furthermore, they were not very versatile and did not allow for adjustable aiming points within certain rangefinder positions.
One Saturday in late October, 2002, a group of students at the University of Utah were exploring an abandoned military installation on their campus. They found a weapon cache that included two M-16 rifles and three pistols. The weapons had been kept at the site for years without being cleaned or stored in a safe. On November 3, 2002, the university's police department received a call about shots fired inside the building. A search turned up no evidence of shooting but did find several guns and ammunition inside the building. The university placed both rifles and pistols into storage after determining they were not subject to any restrictions under federal law and could be bought or sold without prior consent from the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). In May 2009 ATF announced that it had recovered six firearms from an apartment complex in Salt Lake City that housed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDSChurch). These firearms had been hidden among donated boxes and cans by LDSChurch member John Waddell until ATF arrived to confiscate them.
