It is one of the oldest towns in that area and was founded by Revolutionary War veterans, who named it for Warren (now part of Cincinnati). The town grew rapidly during the 19th century and became an important transportation hub. In 1881, Warrensville Heights was incorporated as a borough. In 1907, the city of Athens annexed Warrensville Heights as part of its growth. The population of Warrensville Heights peaked at over 20,000 in 1920 but slowly declined until its current level of 5,500 residents in 1990. Warrensville Heights, Ohio is a small town located in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,874 at the 2010 census. Warrensville Heights is home to the Warrensville Heights Community School District and the Warren Hills Baptist Church. The community was founded in 1868 by pioneers who came from Rhode Island. In 1896, the town became a part of Cleveland and in 1907 it became an independent city. In 1912, Warrensville Heights was merged into Cleveland's city government and became known as "the City of Lakeshore". The name change reflects Cleveland's growing love for Lake Erie beaches which were being developed nearby in other parts of Cleveland at that time. In 1952, Warrensville Heights incorporated as a village and adopted its present name - "Warrensville Heights Community School District". It continues to be governed by a village board with members appointed by the mayor and first vote follows the selection of five trustees who are then tasked with developing all aspects of school district operations including budgeting, personnel management, contracting/procurement/financial management etc.. Today, there are over 1,900 residents living within the walls of our Village Board Office located on Prospect Avenue just outside our Village limits! Our residents enjoy excellent public schools including: Clinton-Warrensburg Elementary School (JRK), Parkview Middle & High Schools (JFK), Stroudsburg Senior High School (HS) & West Side Christian Academy (WSCA). Additionally they have access to many private schools including; Beechmont Pre-K through 8th Grade Magnet School (BCPS), Alpine Valley Pre-K through 6th Grade Centennial Learning Center(AVPLC), Wexford Intermediate School (WINKS) & Villa Rica Catholic Schools(VICL). Some wonderful things about our Village Board include; regularly scheduled meetings which allow residents input on important school district issues; easy online filing system for notices of events or requests for services; continued investment in infrastructure such as new sidewalks/driveways/streetlights etc.; widespread support from our citizens who have generously donated property or time to help us keep our doors open!

Warrensville Heights is a small community in the southeastern corner of Ohio, just east of Cincinnati. It was founded in 1811 by Daniel Warren and his family. The first settler, John Warren, came from Connecticut in 1796. In 1811, Daniel Warren built a log cabin on the current site of the community. The next year, he and his wife Susanna purchased 2 acres (0.8 km2) of land near present-day Union Chapel for $5 per acre (1/4 mile²). In 1814, they erected a simple wooden fence around their new property to protect it from Indians who had recently moved into the area. The village began to grow slowly but steadily over the next few years. By 1821, there were 21 residents living in Warrensville Heights; by 1830, there were 54 residents. By 1840, there were 100 citizens living in Warrensville Heights; by 1860, there were 144 citizens living in Warrensville Heights. In 1871, the village became an incorporated town under the auspices of Hamilton County; it remained an incorporated town until 1975 when it became a part of Cincinnati Township again under local government control. The importance of trade and industry early on led to growth within the village; many firms still exist today including The Leather Works and Girdershield Paper Products Company which are both located within minutes’ walk of each other on Main Street in downtownWarrensville Heights! The population increased rapidly due to immigration during Prohibition as many workers moved upriver towards Toledo or Cleveland because those areas had open transportation systems and good jobs available! However despite this growth throughout much of the 20th century things have changed quite dramatically with respect to employment opportunities with only 2% (2010) actually working full time outside their home state while 98% enjoying various forms paychecks yearly!!!
