Warrensville Heights is a small town in the southwestern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is named after General George Warren who fought in the American Revolution and later became an U.S. Senator from Ohio. Warrensville Heights was founded by General George Warren in 1795 as a small farming community on the east side of what is now Delaware Valley Parkway. The area that makes up today's Warrensville Heights was originally swampy and forested, with only a few homes and businesses existing when General Warren moved his family there in 1829. Today, most of the village lies within two city limits: Cleveland and Akron - but pockets of Warrensville Heights still exist scattered throughout other neighborhoods in both cities. The first store opening in what is now downtown Warrensville Heights took place on July 3, 1846; it was called the Dairy Store and operated by Ezekiel Fenton until 1861 when he sold it to Edward Copley Jr., one of the founders of Cleveland State Normal School (now Brown University). In 1870, John Hoadley bought property near where today's Bridgeview Drive sits for $2 per acre; this led to Hoadley's first business being an agricultural fairgrounds which served as a market for local farmers during summer months before moving into more permanent land use later that year. By 1903, Hoadley had added another store on Delaware Avenue - this time becomes known as "The Grocery". In 1916, while still owned by John Hoadley Jr., The Grocery chain merged with grocery store pioneer Charles Weisburger’s company becoming Weisburger-Hoadley Company Incorporated (PHI). In 1925 GEICO built their largest plant outside of North America at what is now FirstEnergy Plaza II adjacent to I-271/Cleveland Road; due to its large size & location PHI leased space from GEICO for their new building which opened in 1926 renamed FirstEnergy Building #1 hereafter known as PHI Tower I or simply FirstEnergy Plaza I (FEPI) . At its peak occupancy around 1970-1975 PHI Tower I employed over 1,000 people including 350 engineers & support staff.. With continued growth along Euclid Avenue starting about 1975-1980 onwards Third Street between West Union Boulevard & Streetsboro Road would be home to many large box stores such as Sears Roebuck&Co.; JCPenney;; Kmart;; Macy’s;; Shoppers Drug Mart;; Sam’s Club;; etc... This street also housed several important governmental buildings such as City Hall (1967), Firehouse #1 (1973), Police Department Headquarters Annex(1994), EMS Training Center(2002) among others In 1990 Phili exercised option to purchase 4 acres located east of Euclid Ave between Second Street & Third Street from Great Lakes Broadcasting Company Ltd.; which has since become known as Phili Place In 2000 Phili Place closed down due to lack of interest from developers but reopened under new management under the name " phillipineplace dot com" serving primarilyarea around Erie Blvd SW between 1st Ave SE and Parma Rd w/ additional retail development underway on nearby parcels .. As part of this redevelopment project phillipineplace introduced self serve liquor sales beginning Dec 31 2009 thru Feb 14 2010

Warrensville Heights is a small town in theuy of Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Daytona Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Warrensville Heights was George Jennings, who arrived in 1824 from Maryland. He built a cabin on the banks of the Scioto River and named it Jennings Station. In 1830, he sold his cabin to John Collier and his family, who moved to their present site. Collier had come from Kentucky and cleared land near what is now Middleburg Township with help from Anthony Wayne and other settlers. By 1836, most of modern-day Warrensville Heights had been settled when James Mays became owner of large tracts of land east of Dayton that included much of north Hebron Township and parts of west Dayton. In 1839, he bought another parcel from Anthony Wayne for $100 cash; this piece forms today's northeast corner of north Main Street and east Walnut Avenue in Warrensville Heights. In 1840, David Rankin started clearing land near what is now downtown Warrensburg Heights on behalf of Wm Hite & Son (the founders also owned Rankin's Store on Elm Street). On December 12th that year, Rankin submitted an application for patent to create a new village called "Warrensburg". The patent applications were processed quickly due to several factors: many Ohio residents were eager for new homes after experiencing the telegraph epidemic that swept across America in 1837-38; rankin's business acumen made him a successful proponent for villagehood; and local support helped make early Village Board decisions possible. On January 2nd 1840 (almost one year after submitting his application), Rankin received notice from Secretary Nicholas Biddle stating that no grant would be made "to establish any place or places called 'Warrensburg', but only such as are pronounced by us hereinafter under certain specific limitations." A committee was formed to look into whether or notvillagehood status should be granted based on these circumstances; however, they decided against it because rankin had failed to meet all requirements set forth in the patent application letter (e.g., providing detailed public records). A few days later on January 10th 1840 (five months after submitting his application), Edward Hickson applied for villagehood through township government instead becauseRankin still hadn't met all requirements set forth in the letter FROM THE SECRETARY OF STATE ABOUT THE VILLAGEHOOD APPLICATION FROM DAVID RANKIN This process continued until May 20th 1840 when rankin finally submitted paperwork satisfying all requirements set forth by Biddle about having a schoolhouse/ church/ graveyard etc.; however granting villagehood did not follow suit because rankins store didn't close until 1861 which violates PatentApplication Letter Requirements . Afterward many people moved away including some who lived there before then like my great grandparents
