Warrensville Heights is a small town in Findlay County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,574 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lima–Muncie–Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Warrensville Heights is one of the few places in North America with both an artillery battery and a tank battalion preserved as national monuments. The community was founded by settlers who arrived in 1796 from Pennsylvania. The first ammunition store in Warrensville Heights was built in 1814 by Amos McGee. In 1842, Augustus Hargrave opened his own store and warehouse on Second Street near High School. In 1861, John Sibley opened his store on Main Street between State and High Schools. By 1865, all three stores were closed down by order of General Ulysses S Grant because he found they were providing too much ammunition to the Confederacy during the American Civil War. In 1862, Captain George Fenton organized a company of Confederate soldiers called "Fenton's Rangers." He purchased two cannons from Captain John Gadsden for $600 each and began smuggling cannonballs into Union territory through Warrensville Heights into Indiana Territory under the guise of being delivering goods to Gadsden's customers there. After several months of this effort, Fenton was arrested and fined $100 for violating United States law regarding contraband weapons exports (he had been importing them). Captain Fenton's efforts uncovered a Confederate printing press that had been set up inside one of Gadsden's businesses in Union territory and he successfully traced its source back to Corinth, Mississippi; whereupon Union authorities destroyed the presses without trial or explanation (a common occurrence during the war). In 1864, Mayor Abram Copley petitioned Congress for a appropriation to erect a monument to honor members of United States military personnel killed or wounded while serving with distinction within Ohio during the American Civil War (the first such request made by any local municipality). The House agreed to authorize appropriations for this purpose but did not pass any legislation until after President Abraham Lincoln signed an Executive Order allotting military benefits based on service record rather than age or previous military experience. When money ran low on existing appropriations earmarked specifically for Monument purposes within days following General Ulysses S Grant's death in 1865 without any comparable memorial project pending in response,[1] Copley again petitioned Congress for appropriations specifically for Monument purposes but received no response beyond passing time-wasting resolutions instead[2]. Finally recognizing that there would be no end to such requests until somebody finally got around to building something,[3], Copley reissued his original request four years later when new transportation infrastructure became available nearby.[4] On July 4th Memorial Day 2011,[5] Congressman Jim Renacci introduced HCR No: 1118 which designatedWarrensville Heights Armory Museum as National Monument status effective immediately[6]. As per current law it remains open daily 9am-4pm[7]. Prior thereto WHA also erected appropriate plaque at armory museum stating "Welcome! Our history begins here"

Warrensville Heights is a town in Morrow County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,890 at the 2010 census. The community was named for John Warren, an early settler. It has been in existence since 1795. The first permanent settlers in what is now Warrensville Heights were three families who came overland from Pennsylvania in 1795. They called their new home "Baldwinstown." In 1805, they donated land to the Township of Morrow and erected a gristmill on the stream that flowed through their town. The mill continued to be operation until it burned down in 1867. In 1840, the Lighthouse Board established a lighthouse at Baldwinsboro Island which remains operational today as part of the Great Lakes Lighthouse System. In 1863, Coryell Brothers grocery store opened its doors on Main Street in Warrensville Heights and soon became one of the most popular stores in town. From this store stemmed many other businesses that have filled up downtown since then including Lynch's Drugstore (now Jiffy Lube), Goudreau's Bakery (now Publix), and finally McDonald's restaurants which currently occupy much of downtown Warrensville Heights - all still open today!
The Warrensville Heights community was founded in 1836 by two brothers, Ebenezer and Amos Warren. The area was named for the 2,000 acre (8 km2) tract of land they purchased from the local Native American tribe. They built a small cabin and began to cultivate their land. In 1838, they married Sarah Addison and settled in what is now the Warrensville Heights neighborhood. The couple had six children before Sarah died in 1848. Ebenezer continued farming until his death in 1865. His son Amos took over the business and it continued until 1949 when it merged with another company to form United Canning Company.

The name of the town comes from the fact that it is located on an arm of the Great Miami River.
