Wadsworth is a small town in the tri-state area of Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Wadsworth is located on the west bank of the Monongahela River, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. The population was 9,711 at the 2000 census. Wadsworth is part of the Shadyside–Monroeville Township municipality which had a total population of 14,812 as of 2010. The first settler in what became Wadsworth was Elijah Hicks in 1786. Hicks was one of three men who organized and built the first courthouse in what would become Wadsworth. Other early settlers included Samuel Jarvis and Nicholas Cuyler. In 1814, Captain John Silliman erected a cabin on land that he donated to Wadsworth Township for use as a public square. The first post office was established here on May 21, 1814 by Ezra Taft Benson with James Hays serving as his clerk. The name "Wadsworth" originated from an Indian word meaning "happy place." In 1822, Reverend Samuel Morse arrived in this area to start Methodism and establish a church colony in nearby Perrysburg; however, it did not take long before he realized that there were few people living near him who couldactually read or write so he decided to move his church services downriver toghttp://www2a1dd5b4cdc3af9eaa2cfe0dee05cdefdc4f/. He named his new congregation "Wadsworth Methodist Church" after his home town in England where Methodism flourished during its early days (see also: Morse's missionary work). Reverend Morse's successor as pastor here was Rev Jno Witherspoon until 1846 when he resigned due to ill health and died aged 77 years old suddenly at home after making only two visits to this community since arriving here over twenty years earlier! His widow continued ministering for many years until her death at 89 years old on December 5th, 1916! Bishop Asbury moved his cathedral from London back into North America following its destruction by fire during World War II; however, because no one wanted to run afoul of local zoning regulations he elected not to re-establish himself permanently within our borders although some services continue today under various names including Cathedral Point United Methodist Church & School Corporation (CPUM&SC) and Vineyard Chapel AME Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church - traces its roots back even further back... Reverend Elisha Cook left us records testifying that Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church used To Be Called 'Anglican' but Changed Name To 'Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints' When They Became An Apostolic Vicariate After Being Separated From Rome In 1907!!! There are numerous similar stories throughout history with very different outcomes !!!!!! We should all be ashamed of how our religion has been hijacked by outside forces over the last several hundred years!!!!!!!!!!!!! As if things weren't enough already we have now another group moving into our small town claiming it wants to help us.....HOW DARE THEY????????? We should never let anyone come into our little town without proper paperwork or proof that they actually want to help us..............and most importantly NO FEE FOR THEIR SERVICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wadsworth, Ohio is a town in Mason County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. Wadsworth was founded in 1824 by Daniel Wadsworth and his family. It became a city in 1907. Wadsworth is located on the southern border of Mason County and is adjacent to Findlay and Buena Vista townships on the east side of the county. The first settlers in what would become Wadsworth were two families from Connecticut who came overland through Kentucky in 1795. They named their new settlement after George Washington's home country: Mount Vernon (later Yorktown). In 1824, Daniel Wadsworth and his family moved to this area from Delaware Township near Dayton, Ohio so he could establish a farmstead with access to water resources possible only within one-and-a-half miles of where he lived. By 1830, all but one of the Wadsworth males had died from smallpox contracted while out farming or hunting; however, three daughters banded together to start a new community—the name originated with them—and continued to call themselves "Wadworth." In 1907, when Cleveland annexed part of Mason County as its second city boundary following its incorporation as an independent municipality, Wadsworth became part of that city proper along with Findlay and Buena Vista townships on the east side of the county line. The annexation created a then-total population for Wadsworth of 2,912 people including 718 residents in Addison Heights Estates which straddled both cities boundaries; Addison Heights had been built by wealthy local citizens as an exclusive subdivision for those living within either limit but shared property lines with both cities. This example also showed how annexations could result not just in increased populations but also different levels of development inside each newly erected city Limits; while during earlier times the boundaries between these two municipalities had often seemed more like traditional borders than today's delineated zones where housing developments can exist next door to libraries or schools* (*During earlier years there were no zoning regulations governing land use within City Limits - this resulted from rulings by municipal trustees who determined that such Regulations would be unconstitutional since they conflicted with state law.)
Wadsworth was founded in 1800 by John Wadsworth and his family. It became a town in 1827 and was named for Captain Nathaniel Wadsworth, who served as the first sheriff of Ohio. The town is home to many colleges and universities, including the University of Ohio and Ohio State University.
