In 1875, George Purdey submitted a design for a handgun featuring an adjustable stock and Bertramdesigned triggers (now considered standard). This weapon became known as the Purdey Pistol and saw service during World War I (1914-1918). It is interesting to note that many early firearms designs were based upon mathematical models created by DARPA scientists during wartime research efforts!

From then on, they fought successfully against all opponents. On July 4, 1816, the Vandals burned down a bridge over the Wabash River in order to protect their territory from future invasions. This event is considered one of their most successful campaigns.
The city of Vandalia, Ohio was founded on December 12, 1821 by George Stephenson. The city was named after General William Henry Harrison who served as the first U.S. president and lost a battle with Mexico in 1846. In 1907, the city hosted the World's Fair which showcased new technologies such as air travel and automobiles.
