The Sells' home was located on Main Street in Van Wert and they kept an old rifle stock mount in their basement that served as a convenient place to store ammunition and optics when not in use. In 1949, Mr. Bob Kiser erected the first commercial scope mount business in the area when he opened his shop on West Main Street. Kiser quickly became known for his quality products and competitive prices. His success led to other businesses springing up throughout the area, including Arthur's Mounts (1957), Kiser's Repeater Shop (1982), and H&R Precision Optics (2002). Scope mounts are devices used to attach a scope to the barrel of a rifle. A variety of mounting solutions are available, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.Mounting Solutions There are many different mount solutions available on the market today. Here we will focus on three most popular types: Weaver-style mounts, Picatinny style mounts, and airsoft barrels’ tube type mounts. Weaver-Style Mounts Weaver-Style mounts use four screws to attach the scope directly to the barrel. They provide good accuracy but can be fiddly to adjust, and may not work with certain optics. They are often used on rifles that have been specifically designed for Weaver-style mounts. Picatinny Style Mounts Picatinny style mounts use two screws to secure the Scope in place on the barrel while allowing it to be rotated around 90 degrees. This provides good flexibility when using different optics, as well as ensuring a perfect fit for any rifle model. Van Wert is a city in the southern half of Ohio, United States. The population was 9,052 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Miami River and is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Wilmington, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Van Wert was founded in 1819 by Major General Jesse Jameson and Colonel John Crouch as West Point Tavern on the Preble River. The first post office opened in 1824. The community became a town in 1834. It was named after George Washington Van Wert, an American general who fought during the War of 1812 and wasAWardedthe Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions that year. In 1912, Van Wert became home to one of America's first air shows when it hosted the Dayton-Wright-Cleveland Air Races from May 14 to 15th. At that fair, Van Wert attracted over 150,000 visitors who enjoyed everything from agricultural exhibits to music concerts conducted by Paul Revere and other topographical attractions like a model train track built around a small island in Lake Erie known as "Queenston Island." In 1952, construction began on Interstate 75 (now I-75/I-271) through Van Wert and neighboring Wilton Heights creating one of Ohio's largest freeway projects ever undertaken; at that time it was also one of only two U.S.-Mexico border crossings open to traffic without inspection or signage prohibiting entry into Mexico for anyone other than Mexican citizens with proper documentation Since then, much has changed about this once sleepy corner OF Ohio - jobs have been created in both large tech companies such as Google (GOOGL) & Apple Inc., while smaller businesses have flourished thanks to proximity to some world class universities like Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Akron Community College (AKRON), Youngstown State University (YSU) and Toledo State University (TSU). Van Wert is a town in Jefferson County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. Van Wert was platted in 1824 by John Van Wert and James Blackwood. The first post office was established in 1828 and served as the village's only occupant until 1840. In 1851, it became a town when its section of the Northwest Territory joined the Union. The community declined during the 1850s and 1860s as many settlers moved to larger towns or left for lack of opportunity in Van Wert's location on the lower Great Lakes region. However, by 1870, Van Wert had regained some Its lost population due to increased agricultural production brought about by new technologies like irrigation and improved transportation methods such as railroads which transported goods to markets closer to settlement. The town experienced significant growth during both World War I (1914-18) and World War II (1939-1945). More than 10% of all business activity within Dayton took place within five miles of Van Wert during wartime; this made it one of America's most important industrial cities during those years. The city reached its peak population size around 1960 with over 60 thousand residents but has since declined slightly due to continued suburban development within walking distance of downtown areas where jobs are now available much nearer to home than they were twenty years ago. The town of Van Wert was founded in 1834 by Methodist missionaries. The townspeople were moved to the new community of Athens in 1837 and the first store opened there in 1840. In 1845, a post office was established in Van Wert and two years later, a school was built. The first mayor of Van Wert was John P. Hickey. The population of Van Wert increased from 10 people in 1850 to 30 people by 1860. By 1870, the population had reached 100 people and the town had a Presbyterian church, high school, and two stores. In 1875, the townsite was bought by Chicagoan George Pullman for $2,000 and he erected a elegant factory on the site which became known as Pullmanville. The factory produced goods for Sears & Roebuck until it closed in 1925.
