Upper Arlington is a census-designated place in the southwestern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 11,558 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. Upper Arlington is located on the Scioto River, east of downtown Columbus and south of Zanesville. The name "Upper Arlington" was given to the village by General Marion Butler in 1892, after he donated land for it to be built on. The name comes from a white oak tree that grew near where Upper Arlington now stands. UAPER ARLINGTON SCHOOLS Inc., one of two public school districts serving Upper Arlington, was founded in 1922 when parts of Columbiana School District were disbanded due to amalgamation with Akron Municipal Schools District No. 1 When Columbiana School District merged with Akron Municipal Schools District No. 1 in 1922, Lower Arlington also absorbed its students and teachers; this left only Upper Arlington High School open which operated as a academy until 1957 when it became an all-day high school In 1978, portions of Columbiana SchoolDistrict were dissolved and replaced by another public school district called Defiance Township Community Schools; Defiance Township closed its schools in 1984 however upper Arlington retained most if not all its services including: physical education gymnasiums (later demolished), science labs (later moved to Ionia), band/choir room and many other classrooms which remain today Upper Arlington lost much of its shopping district during prohibition but regained some with the opening of Valley Forge Mall on State Route 322 across from Ionia College circa 1951-1957

The first successful demonstration of this new holster took place at the Farnborough Gun Show in 1907 where Mclntyre's invention received critical acclaim.[1] The modern handgun holster started off as a simple device used by hunters who wanted easier storage and handling for their weapons. It gradually evolved into something much more sophisticated over time. In fact, it has come full circle back to its humble beginnings – harnessing straps instead of human fingers!

Upper Arlington is a village in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census. Upper Arlington is included in the Columbus metropolitan area. The village was founded in 1814 as part of the Northwest Territory and was named for General George Washington's headquarters during the War of 1812. In 1830, Upper Arlington became a town and was renamed after its founder, Joshua Beauregard. At the time of its incorporation as a village in 1868, Upper Arlington had a population of 2,000 people. The Village name may be derived from an early settler's Indian name meaning "broad lands." The first white settlers arrived in what is now Upper Arlington Township on Facebook Volume 3 pg 718-719 A map made by Isaiah Bowman shows land grant for 200 acres to Caleb Burritt on November 5th 1792 Burritt must have been one of many white men who came west to purchase land during this time period because there are no records of him living or owning any land in Ohio until AFTER he received his grant from President George Washington
The city of Upper Arlington, Ohio was founded in 1796 by settlers from Pennsylvania. The first post office in the city was established in 1802. By 1830, Upper Arlington had a population of over 10,000 people. In 1840, the United States Post Office moved from its original location in what is now Delaware Avenue to what is now State Street in Upper Arlington. In 1851, the city annexed part of Parkersburg and became a town within the United States. The population of Upper Arlington grew rapidly during thelate 19th century and by 1910 it had reached 25,000 people. However, during World War I there was significant damage done to the city by artillery fire that came from soldiers stationed along US-19 near where Lower Arlington stands today. In 1941, Lower Arlington became an independent town and ceased to be part of Upper Arlington proper. It has since grown back significantly as a bedroom community for Greater Cleveland while still maintaining some close ties with its larger neighbor.
