The history of Upper Arlington, Ohio's gun targets can be traced back to 1887. That year, a group of men from the town met at the home of J.H. Green to consider forming a shooting club in order toshoot game that could not be hunted with rifles. The club was successful and soon began renting space in an old mill on the edge of town. In 1895, they moved into their present location and continued to operate as a gun club until 1931 when they disbanded because of financial difficulties. In 1937, the Greater Cleveland Shooting Club purchased the land adjacent to the mill where Upper Arlington now stands and began renovation work on what would eventually become their first target range. The range was opened for membership in 1939 and quickly became popular due to its quality targets, well-maintained equipment, and challenging courses for members and visitors alike. From then on, Upper Arlington's gun targets history has been intertwined with that of its neighboring community – both throughofficial recognition by Shot Show America (now SHOT Show) events hosted at nearby Morelli's Casino & Resort during their annual family competitions, as well as through resident contributions which have helped make our ranges one of the most popular in central Ohio!

Upper Arlington was one of the original settlements in the Northwest Territory of Ohio. It was founded by Captain James Wilkinson in 1796, and became a part of the United States of America in 1813. The first gun targets were erected in Upper Arlington during the early 1800s.
Upper Arlington is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 24,837 at the 2010 census. Upper Arlington is located on the Scioto River and extends into Lucas County. It became an incorporated town in 1812. The first settler in what is now Upper Arlington was John Armstrong who arrived in 1795. He built a cabin on the Scioto River just below present day's plaza which still stands today as Armstrong's Grove Park. Armstrong's cabin became known as "Armstrong's Landing" because he landed his boat there to trade goods with the Native Americans. In 1811, Ohio Statehood occurred and Upper Arlington became part of Medina County under the jurisdiction of that state government. The first post office was established in Upper Arlington on October 15, 1812 by order of Governor George Washington Steele. In 1828, Lower Arlington becoming an independent town due to its location along Erie Canal and lack of railroad access near where Upper Arlington now sits; this caused Lower Arlington to become more popular with residents than Upper Arlington which continued to be a commercial center for its surrounding area until after World War II when transportation improved greatly and suburbs grew around it making upper arlington economically inactive again until recently when it has seen some resurgence with new development (mostly centered around Armstrong Park)

In 1819, the United States War of 1812 resulted in the Treaty of Fort Wayne which ceded land east of Dayton to Upper Arlington. In 1824, Upper Arlington became part of the new Republic ofOhio and changed its name to Arlington Heights after General David Troup's Headquarters at Arlington Heights on the Scioto River. In 1850, Lower Arlington was settled by Germans who had moved from Prussia after being expelled from their homes during the revolution there. They built houses along Main Street and named their settlement Berlin because they were fleeing Bolshevism. When World War I began in 1914, Lower Arlington joined up with Cleveland as part as part of American Expeditionary Force 21st Infantry Division under Colonel John Jaucourt and fought at Antietam Ridge and at Gettysburg where he was wounded twice. After Midway Island was taken by Japan in 1941 during World War II, Lower Arlington became a Japanese internment camp until 1945 when it reverted back to UPPER ARLINGTON COOPERATIVE GOVERNMENT status quo ante Hiroshima-Chrysler Corp plant located south side alley between High School Ave & Maple St
Upper Arlington is a neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded as part of the Amish country and developed primarily as a residential area for the Amish community. The neighborhood has since become an enclave for the city's high-income residents.
